    The problem with that is that the train would have to reverse back to get to Lawrence. At least that rail trail is getting extended south from Methuen into Lawrence.....one day.

    Some newer developments in Boston ban residents at that address from getting on-street parking permits to try and avoid this issue.

    If it ain't broke, don't fix it. But more seriously, touching any of the signal equipment will most likely trigger a requirement to bring everything up to code with ADA/PROWAG. That's just my guess, I really don't have a good sense of how our signals compare to other cities in the US.
