This is a much more measured take on what I was getting at in my initial post. I'm not saying the project should be bereft of parking, but it's obvious to me that there's going to be too much here. The city should be actively encouraging car-light living, and this project does the opposite...

This is literally 500 or fewer feet from a Green Line station. Does this project really need 323 parking spaces for 270 units, even with the supermarket?

It certainly took them long enough. They've been working on that site since the start of the year, if I remember correctly. God, I miss Johnny D's.

Utini! That said, I'm actually fond of the massing here. It's bulky, but I feel like it could wear it well.

Yeah, I think these will turn out quite nicely. That said, at least one additional retail space feels like a must.

It's really been incredible to watch this reno/rebuild process. You have 100 years of advances in steel construction, side-by-side, and it's fascinating! Feeling hopeful about the new facade that has gone up thus far.

Seriously. The (very positive, IMO) impact of the podium on Causeway Street is hard to overstate.

I wonder how often collapses like this happen in Mexico City, given its rather precarious location in an old lakebed. The whole municipality is rife with subsidence. Perhaps this is just getting more attention because it's a newer structure?

I actually doubt that it'd be able to. The site's located due northeast of the Common and I think shadows would only barely fall in that direction on mornings around the summer solstice, if ever.

Thanks for the shots, as always, Beeline- especially those "detail" ones up at top. The protruding rebar would suggest at least one more floor/set of perimeter columns needs to be poured, no?
