Union Square is really conflicting. There are so many varied scales adjacent to each other, it doesn't know what it wants to be.

On my walk to the T this morning, I noticed that there is a Tasty Burger going into a storefront on Prospect St in Central Square.

People complain about the gray precast boxes, people complain about the glass boxes. Can't make everyone happy.

Not likely, it seems to be right on or right off of the property line and If I remember correctly, if you are under 3' to the line, wall openings are not permitted.

I'm excited that this side of the channel is being developed. Now if we could relocate the Post Office facility, utilize that land and add a footbridge or two across the channel, it would make it a really special area. I'm thinking a modern take on the Amsterdam or Copenhagen canals.

Is there a reason why there is such an overhang and the building does not go down to the ground level? It seems like a lost opportunity for for square footage in favor of some architectural move, unless there is some hidden constraint that prevents them from doing it.
