I believe the rapid proliferation of the urban malls back in the 70's and 80's was the cause of the decay in Downtown / Main St stores. I believe that San Diego has similar FAA restrictions since the airport is in close proximity to their downtown, if you can call it that. Boston's skyline is far superior.

Completely agree. I think SST will be much more prominent in the skyline compared to MT or Winthrop tower. I'm really looking forward to watching that one.

I disagree. Another very tall tower so close to the iconic JHT would have diminished it's prominence. I would agree if the location was several blocks away, such as halfway between the Pru and JHT.

Good timing now that Winthrop Tower is winding down and SST will soon go vertical ... another fun one to watch. After SST, I don't think there's much in the pipeline other than a couple of mid-rises.

I have a very definite and harsh opinion of this building but I'm wondering if I'm in the minority. What do other members of the forum think about this building now that its entering the final stages of construction?

I really like the look of the glass! This tower would have really stood out in the skyline with a bit more vertical but as is, it just mirrors MT. Maybe the pending crown will make a difference.
