    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

There's some more info on some of the research and advocacy that they've done on this topic on their website. I think some of the base line research was started by MAPC, too. These three fare-free bus routes will be an amazing benefit to riders, not just due to fares but also because of the...

    Blue Line extension to Lynn

I know that Blue Line extension to Lynn has been floated over the years, but does anyone know if an extension terminating at Salem ever been formally proposed by the T, MassDOT, electeds, etc. over the years?

Watch around the 12-min mark of this documentary, which goes into SL planning history - the "equal or better" line came from the draft environmental impact report that was sent to the feds, so it was an actual claim the state put out there. Strongly recommend watching the whole video if you...

At this point, I think it's a matter of time for meeting the ITDP BRT standards. If / when the Columbus Ave center-running bus lanes are extended north toward Tremont St and Ruggles Station (which the MPO has agreed to fund), it'll almost break the 3km / 1.9 mile mark. Blue Hill Ave, which...

Agreed that it should be center-running for sure, but that's really hard to do with a quick-build pilot in a smaller city. Infrastructure along that road is rough, so hopefully a successful pilot sets them up for a center-running project like Columbus Ave down the line.

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

It is very much a state road - the negligence at MassDot district four is egregious. City of Somerville and advocates have been pushing for the highway to be overhauled into an at-grade parkway with transit, but the state has slow-walked it to the point where the structure is literally falling down.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

If you board at the new Columbus Ave stops, you can see the electrical hook-up's for the new fare-vending machines already in the ground, so pre-paid boarding could eventually be possible - imagine the same would be true on Blue Hill. Also, the routes that Wu proposed to be fare-free run along...

    Boston Parking Lots

Or, remove the parking lot and return a good portion of it to South Bay-like features - green space, park, wetland, somewhat similar to the "Common" at Cambridge Crossing / North Point. Develop dense TOD around Newmarket Station, similar to Cambridge Crossing (hoping for a future with much more...

probably since it's the first time they've done this kind of median configuration (excluding busways like the SL3 in chelsea), they need to just make sure everything it's ship-shape, try it out with different models of buses that are in service in this area, get operators familiar with it and...

West of Union Square = painted fall 2020 (can't see the completed stuff here, but you can see the white line work for the lanes from this November 2020 street view) and seems like that one at McGrath Highway near the glx bridge is under construction now. word was GLX had to complete some work...
