Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

TONS of room for more development. [and just to the left of the pavilion... room for idk, a stadium?] :)

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

What’s been done with this area is breathtaking. Looking at a lot of these recent pictures - it’s CRIMINAL there is not a subway line going through that area (RAIL. don’t even bother me with the useless Silver Line BS)

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

That’s going to be PHENOMENAL. On the top level is that blue area glass and the “function space” or what am I looking at? Regardless - I think this might be one of my favorite renovations. On the bottom level you’ll now have open air concessions that don’t take you away from the game - and...

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I see the new green structure that mirrors the current signage with sits atop the Right Field Bleachers - Does anyone have any information or renderings about the intergration of the ballpark (mainly the right field portion) and the venue itself?

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

What are the odds anything of any significance ever gets built there? It's a real shame to because many proposals created for that parcel have been tremendous. Just like, will Boston ever get a new tallest? Both answers seem to be a resounding and disappointing NO.

    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

The Red Sox might have the worst set of minor league parks. Hadlock is awful. The Green Monster replica was done in a tacky way. The seating bowl looks like diffrent parts assembled into one. The right field line looks sloppy. It’s totally overrated. The Red Sox might have the worst set of...

    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

As I said before - the interior would be fine if - and this might sound very trivial - they had seats stretch further down the line. Seating stopping just passed the bags gives it a Single-A or collegiate feel. If they put the visitors pen in Left Center there’s room for one more small section...

    Gillette Stadium

Maybe the last line was misleading. I was hopeful the Olympics would be used as a vehicle for major infrastructure improvements because I wanted to see the major infrastructure changes above all else. Hosting the Olympics was just a major bonus to me

    Gillette Stadium

Im aware of the Olympic saga and how it played out. It initially had support but the NOlympics crew bombarded people with negative media and eventually enough people started believing it. I think the Olympics had the potential to be great for the city. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity...

    Gillette Stadium

The Garden itself - has undergone renovations which make it bareable but its light years behind the arenas built since 2010, hell even the ones built just after it. It made as generic as could possibly be. Dreadful in fact. There were other arenas built just after it that have way more character...

    Gillette Stadium

“Falls Flat” didn’t mean profit margins. If that were the case the thing would be shut down or transitioned into something smaller. Falls Flat means ... the experience isn’t all that great as a consumer and its aesthetically tacky and dull. To be fair as a North Shore guy I’m not really sure...

    Gillette Stadium

Thats not totally true. US Bank Stadium doesn’t have a lot of parking. Soldier Field really doesn’t have a lot at all. Mercedes Benz in Atlanta has a decent lot a mile away and a mediocre lost 0.3m away but none of these stadiums are surrounded by vast lots (for example like you see in Philly)...

    Gillette Stadium

I’m saying for the city. The financial windfall for the restaurants and bars. The life it would bring to the area. It would all make for one hell of an atmosphere. Clearly the right place for sporting venues is close to urban centers. The suburban parking lot is a dreadfully misguided model

    Gillette Stadium

Kraft was willing to fund the stadium itself at his own cost. Asking for infrastructure improvements only which was a very reasonable deal at the time considering what was happening in other cities. And if the economics are even REASONABLE (I.e a minor loss to the city - sometimes it’s worth it...

    Gillette Stadium

I’m throughly surprised at the opposition or that there is any to the idea of a stadium in Boston. Not building the Patriots Stadium in South Boston was a collosal mistake on behalf of (Menino? Finneran?). Can anyone imagine for a second - the Patriots with all their success the last couple of...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I know what an infill station is - I was using the term liberally. What I meant was - it wouldn’t require a whole new line - merely a stub off the existing line. But yes I guess technically it’s not an infill scenario. And in order for any infill to be low budget they all have to be at grade
