Berklee Expansion Plans | Back Bay

I actually agree with you 100% but I never pass up a dig at Johnson for that stinker. I bet Berklee bit off more than they could chew and have been VE-ing left and right. Which is a shame because the massing and scale are decent in the context of the FCCS and air rights projects. The green...

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

Re: Parcel 9 - The Greenway I pretty much agree. I also think there is a huge gulf between what residents of "apartments" and "condos" will tolerate in terms of trash, noise, parking, amenities and general QoL.

Amazing shit other cities get that Boston doesn't

Well of course not John since you directly profit from higher and higher rents. They're crushing Boston though. Soon all that will be T accessible is collegiate slum rows and high-end condo conversions.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers Are the situations different? As I understand the hcurch's longterm financial strategy is based on building. If they don't move ahead then they threaten the entire campus. Also seems to me that non-profits have a better track record in...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers As noted earlier in the thread, the church controls both parcels. Last I heard on the street was the church was nailing down financing and being encouraged by the city to wait for the Berklee School's project to finish.

Isn't there some arcane law for buildings that aren't grandfathered that you can only hang neon from the inside?

Debt service for non-public transit activities? Hrm. That feels suspect. I agree about maintaining existing infratstructure though.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: TD Garden Towers Have you ever tried to schedule deliveries? They show up when they show up unless you pay through the nose. Strict traffic management policies for the new businesses proposed will be critical to prevent utter gridlock.

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

I can't believe Harold is renting studios for $1,725 in that neighborhood. Those prices have to be a typo. If it is indeed real, that's good.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

We should remove all stops, then? Not to be absurd, but what's the point?

What's wrong with employee-only stops that makes you so "infuriated" (your word)? FFS that's 140 less cars on the road.

    Boston's Gas Lights

Now, I 100% agree with diminishing light pollution. Proper aiming and appropriate intensity are important. I simply don't think brite-white leaning toward green is an improvement.
