MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

/snort Greater good of the city and its residents.....just a few weeks ago we were sitting on the patio of Abe& Louies pondering the atrocity that is the Mandarin. A failed restaurant, another one with no customers and most of the building dark. Both hotel and residential sides. Can't wait.

30 Dalton St. Residences | Back Bay

You think we don't have junkies and degenerates in this neighborhood? Have you been on Mass Ave recently? Helmet Man in front of Dunks, the opiate-abusers in front of Store 24 or Guitar Center? Fred the ginger bum who shits in the alley behind the Verizon building? Fr. John's flock of homeless...

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

FCCS was granted incredible power over property they directly owned already, and then equally incredible power over property divested to them during "urban blight" back in the awful days of BRA's Urban Renewal. For example, the Section 9 Church Park designation expired a few years back-- the...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I recall Lee Kennedy craned empty containers into Berklee's site after they got down 10 ft. Empty trailers came to unload and picked up the full ones.

Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

They turned on the oscillating (?) lights at the crown this week fading from one color to an other color. It looks like a comic book. Which, is fitting. This building is a joke.

The Ipswich | 2 Charlesgate West | Fenway

Re: 2 Charlesgate West Word went around last month to tenants that leases will not be renewed in the current building. So, that seems to indicate the billionares came to an agreement.

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

Accessibility for Hynes was written into the Peebles award for Parcel 13. Construction proposed to start in 2020, IIRC.

Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

I've never understand why anyone would design something like that for a place like Boston. It serves very little functional purpose (shielding those under from rain/snow), looks stupid and wastes energy if the thing is heated. Why spend the money?

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

MassDOT required the winning bidder of Parcel 13 (Peebles) to reopen the Boylston Street entrance diagonal from the end of the Hynes collonade. That's one of the complicating design factors, as well, sinking redundant elevators down into the site at the currently-closed headhouse.

Town & Gown: The role of schools and universities in Boston

Re: Town Vs Gown: The role of schools and universities in Boston That cracked me up. Tangent, I agree. I am all for non-profit status for universities but when I hear leadership say things like "we can't build until the dorm starts generating revenue" it makes me crazy. Tax them on the...

Dorm Tower @ Emerson College | 1-3 Boylston Place | Downtown

Re: Emerson college expansion into Boylston Place Some asshole consultant once posited that constructing small dorm rooms with the minimum footprint possibles encourages students to go out into the community and collaborate and innovate and socialite with each other. And that's maybe a...

Is the new thing bike lanes all the time everywhere? Hereford is getting restriped. Hereford? Hereford!

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Re: Congress Street Garage Development People spend hours looking for parking? Or, they spend hours looking for (free) parking? More entitlement from automobile owners who think their gas taxes should evaporate, tolls disappear and parking be free.

Copley Place Expansion and Tower | Back Bay

Boylston West @ Fenway Triangle (Van Ness) | 1325 Boylston Street | Fenway

Re: 1325-1341 Boylston St (Fenway Triangle/Former Goodyear Tire) Making the circle recognizable as Nike's or McDonald's logos was one of the number 1 goals of Bob Ulricha and Robyn Waters so the name almost became irrelevant. Pretty smart.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers Seriously? I never said I was against it.* I'm also certainly not a NIMBY, and I don't believe that because I own a plaza south of a project that I won't have issues with shadows.** You're "betting" the church can impose its will on...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers And now that I've made my snarky point, chap, let's also talk about the BFD/BAC at the top of Dalton, shadows touching the Comm Ave boulevard (a big no-no!), that monstrosity at the corner of Hereford and Comm Ave that always seems to...
