It's not even the vertical gradient that's the issue for me. It's the internal horizontal color alternation combined with the offset windows that make this so unsettling to look at.

That's a bold move by MIT. They're essentially saying they don't need this space for academic expansion in the next 100 years. I'm surprised; I didn't think it would be that long.

As the panels go higher, they are rapidly getting brighter. The latest panels have a sharp, bright contrast. I have a bad feeling that the finished building will still be the cluster that the render was.

Snow would press straight down roughly uniformly, so I don't think it's a concern. I'm more concerned that the snow will fall off the sides onto pedestrians during winter, and that we'll have to put up ugly scaffolding.
