You can see the image at www.mereda.org Click on MEREDA INDEX "Learn More". The brochure that comes up view the 2nd photo on the bottom row from left to right (the one with the ocean view) and you will see the rendering of the 20 story building. Appears to be too tall for that area of the...

It's located at a lot at 178 Kennebec, Parris & Brattle Street. The latest article/photo that you can see of the building is shown...

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

The Aloft Hotel should be moving ahead, but a recent setback is that the owner rejected the most recent pricing from the General Contractor (Cianbro). Cianbro was supposed to build the Aloft Hotel project but they have been informed by the owner that they will not be the GC. I assume that...

Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

I am curious to see what the Rock Row temporary concert venue is going to look like. It appears that they have a lot of work to do before the first concert on May 26th. I am interested in a few of the concerts they have scheduled but at this time I won't purchase tickets until I see what the...

I was told 3+ years ago by a very reputable Portland Commercial Real Estate/developer that Federated would likely never build anything at Midtown. Sadly, it appears that they were correct. Time for both Federated and the City of Portland to move on.

I am told that LL Bean is going to be doing a major modernization/renovation of their HQ office in Freeport. It's in the final design phase right now and I believe it is suppose to start sometime in 2018. I am sure we will be reading about it in the coming months.

It came from a quote request from the General Contractor in which they included a Permit Set of Drawings (Dated April 2016) and the Schedule for Construction. Hopeful that they will break ground on at least the parking garage but with this project who the heck knows.

The architectural drawings (permit set) for the Parking Garage portion of Midtown are out for pricing from the General Contractor. The project construction schedule calls for construction to start mid October 2017 and the building to complete in March 2019. Hopefully this is the start of the...

Yeh, if it's possible the City should move on from Federated and Jonathan Cox and look for a new developer. Federated has had their time to get something going down there and something needs to happen to that disgusting looking piece of property as it currently sits.

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

I am hearing that an office building/parking garage is likely to be going in at the lot diagonally across from the Civic Center. The office building would be on top of the parking garage and a portion of the parking garage may have to be below the ground.

In today's Bangor Daily News there is an article that reads "Portland's mayor likes the plan to build a downtown skyscraper". Also, in the article NIMBY Tim Paradis (Keep Portland Livable) who led the opposition to the Midtown development is speaking out and states that "If Portland started...

It's Sable Lodge Retirement Community. A $30 million project being built by Cameron General Contractors out of Lincoln, Nebraska. It's a fairly high end place but seems to me to be an odd location for such a place. Tru By Hilton hotel will be breaking ground fairly soon next to the Double Tree.

The buildings on each end should be at least 10 to 12 stories high. I still can't believe this is what they are settling for. It looks similar to most of the buildings that have gone up in Portland the past 2 years and are going up now. It looks like the days of hoping for a 20 story signature...

    Portland Bayside

Very, very disappointing. I agree they should stagger the heights of the buildings and should have required one of the buildings to be at least 12 stories. Hard to believe that pack of idiots would be able to have the power to alter the original city approved plan by that much. Hopefully, the...

I was at WEX a couple of weeks ago and there are plans in place to renovate/modernize the entire interior of the building. The top floor where the execs are has already been done with the lower floors to follow. Very clean, modern look on the top floor. Alot of glass used for the offices and...
