    General Infrastructure

Not sure if this is the right thread for this or if it deserves it's own thread... The Globe is doing 3-part Spotlight story on the transportation crisis in Greater Boston. https://apps.bostonglobe.com/metro/investigations/spotlight/2019/11/19/seeing-red/boston-traffic-stuck-politics/?new

New Red and Orange Line Cars

I kind of figured. We will get used to it soon enough. It's just new and unusual.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

^^ I was on the train across the platform from the new train and they were annoying. I can't imagine what it is going to be like when there are two new trains sitting at the same station.

Does anyone know if the door chimes are an ADA or safety requirement or would it be possible for the T to ditch them if enough people complain?

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Or....we could blame the person who is actively deciding to tear down a classic building. There is no law of nature forcing him to do so. He could just...not. It's well within his power to make that decision. This is 100% on him. Full stop.

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

A uberwealthy developer decides to tear down a beautiful building and replace it with a piece of shit and of course it the union's fault. I love this site.

    The Boston "what if" thread

^^ That is probably sadly accurate. I wonder how much capital came into Boston in the late 1800's simply because we suddenly had a supply of 'modern', handsome stone buildings? Does that capital go elsewhere if we never lost our historic downtown?

    The Boston "what if" thread

Mentioned in another thread: What if the Great Boston Fire of 1872 never happened?

    Let's Make Boston More Fun

I know I'm in a very small minority here, but I actually enjoyed the Boston Winter Market on CHP. I know it was a joke compared to European markets, but I thought maybe, after a few years of trial and error, it could have turned into something decent. But for now it seems dead (at least, I...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Yeah, I wouldn't care who produces it, just as long as it is documentary style, not personality/contest based.

I would watch the hell out of a "This Old House" style (NOT HGTV) show about large scale public works projects.

    XenForo Update

OK, looks like it it resolved but just a little awkward. Basically it will show 10 pages with 20 posts per page and when you get to the 10th page, a small "See Older Posts" button appears in the lower corner to get next 10 pages and so on. I would assume that is to save the server to have to...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

True. If there is one thing we could never do in these modern times is build a giant tunnel in the city.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

I just realized that they took their design cue from the architectural masterpiece that is the TD Garden.
