It's not just reddit trolls. "Seneca Scott, a community organizer in Oakland, California, and cousin of Scott King, told CNN the statue was insulting to his family." https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/01/16/us/mlk-coretta-embrace-memorial-boston-mocked-reaj/index.html

New IBX study just dropped. https://new.mta.info/document/103686 Light rail has become the preferred alternative. I'm happy they didn't go with the bus concept but I have 3 major worries: 1)This seems to be a completely different system not within the current subway or regional rail fair...

Wellington Station Air Rights Development | Medford

While the Davis proposal is probably the least exciting it also seems to be the most reasonable. Gives the MBTA what it wants, doesn't try any engineering tricks, and squeezes in what appears to be three easily constructed buildings for more housing which everywhere needs.

If we still did the archboston awards I'd be nominating this picture. Love it!

there will be an outdoor "drop" style ride on the mid section part, the top is an observatory (images from another un-named other architecture board):

you all need to see this monstrosity coming our way at 740 8th ave (near Times Square): https://newyorkyimby.com/2022/10/rendering-revealed-excavation-begins-for-1067-foot-tower-at-740-eighth-avenue-in-midtown-manhattan.html other renderings from another unnamed architecture board....:

    Union Square D2.1 | 10 Prospect Street | Somerville

Holy cow. When scrolling I thought that "Webster Auto Sales" sign was on the building. I thought Denise Scott Brown and Robert Venturi were back with their decorated sheds writ large.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I did a huge rant earlier about the interior design of the stage. I am so so so happy to see a detailed proscenium instead of the flat shapes they had in the renderings. It realy gives the room a reason for being there and a way for the audience to be enthralled before the show begins.

I mean, as I noted in the post you quoted, the board that hands out the Pritzker Prize, the highest award in architecture, disagrees with all of this but you do you boo.

    Worcester Infill and Developments

I'm worry of feeding the troll but I think it is worth noting that the Pritzker Prize last year went to Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, architects known for their reuse and refurbishment of existing buildings. Bringing an existing building back to life is more sustainable and more...

just a smattering of "cool" things from the not so distant past in Worcester that I can think of off the top of my head: -The Hanover Theatre Conservatory -Brickbox Theater -The Grid district -Carroll Plaza revamp -Worcester Common renovation w/ skating rink -growth of stART on the Street -WRTA...

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

The edges and corners of this one are absolutely stunning. The sliced though uneven scallops just above that awning is such an amazingly textural detail.

Also there will be something dramatic in walking through a smaller, more regular opening and being released into a grand arching space. I design imersive theater and one of the big spacial concepts we work with is compression vs. expansion. Walking though a small space to get to a big space...

Then the answer is to make things better for them, not make it worse for everyone else. We should all have a right to sit down in public spaces and have access to public restrooms. Even, or especially, the homeless should have these rights. Let's maybe house people instead of removing benches...

This isn't a Penn station redevelopment. It is a way to give multiple city blocks and a ten figure tax break to Vornado as a kick back for helping to get people elected. *reposted becasue of messed up syntax*

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

The way the world is right now I'm sure we could find another literal Nazi, like Johnson, to build more fascist-coded architecture for us. Palladian windows for all the people that deserve them and no one else...

Alta on the Row | Mulberry Street | Worcester (Mount Carmel Site)

Mostly this whole development is just a stab I'm my heart. Growing up I went to about 3 weddings in that church and played in that gym countless times. Replacing a beautiful if crumbling church building with anonymous apartment blocks and a parking garage hurts more than a little. Is the housing...
