Portland Museum of Art Expansion | Portland

I've been with you from the beginning, I just tried to find the (any) good in some of my earlier posts. I disagree, I think it's great having a park like this in the core. I don't even have a functional issue with it, every event I've been to there (or seen driving by) fits well in the space...

Glad to see this is back - assuming there will be significant push back on the former church on the corner.

I think you would naturally flow from Payson down to the new building and exit on Spring St - or at least that's what they should encourage. Can't assume where people will be parking so I don't think there's a need for the entrance and exit to be in the same location? Other than maybe security...

After reading the Daniel O'Leary Opinion piece linked above my thinking has started to change: Keep the current main entrance. The way ticketing currently happens is fine, no different than some major museums I've been to. If you want to give it a facelift/make it a little more official, go...

165 Washington Ave | Northern Burner Supply Redevelopment | Portland

Did they design it or were they just the Architect of Record? I would assume a similar situation would happen with Holst unless they're licensed in Maine.

I think the BOT is just as culpable - if this has been building for some time they've had plenty of time to correct it.

Looking at the museum's 990 from 2022, seems like Bessire made around 575k in total. 431k base + 120k other reportable + 9k retirement + 17k nontaxable benefits. Also, while reading the PPH article this was the ad:

Was there even a need to necessarily tie it back to state symbolism? Sometimes people take that stuff too far... not a fan of the name. Hearts of Soft Wood. "Go Hearts of Pine. WOO" hmmm. "Go Big Wood! WOO" "Go HOP! WOO" I dunno.

    Portland Passenger Rail

I generally keep my mouth shut on this thread because I really know nothing about any of this, but wasn't there talk somewhere in the forum about IMT using rail? But maybe that wasn't a reality because of track/double-stack restrictions?

Looks like PB approval expired in Feb of this year, I don't see any extensions.

    Portland Bayside

Determine the actual cost of litigation, sell the remaining parcels for $13M and put that amount towards the legal fees for Federated, have the city pay the difference in legal fees (and maybe fair market value Lot 6), the city resells at cost to developers. Everyone looses, but then the lots...

    Portland Bayside

I appreciate they provided updates on the lawsuits in good detail, even if it still is hopeless. Good to see that Bayside could break ground by the end of the year, though.
