They are the "Starbucks" of London. They are everywhere over in the UK. They seem to have done quite well across the pond here.

It's probably not an MBTA thing, but more of an American thing. Europe, Canada, and Australia just seem to have more respect for good design. :)

I know quite a few on this Forum appreciate these two buildings, but I feel they could really use a facade update like 1 PO Square. In my opinion, One Boston Place could be improved dramatically by adding a crown or spire of some kind. I feel both towers detract from this excellent skyline view.

I can't put my finger on it, but the design doesn't seem as sleek and modern as European Trams. I also really dislike that front side window that opens. It reminds me of an RV side window that you would see in a Winnebago.

Update: The lower left building has become CP's Woodfired Pizza and the upper right is being fitted out to become another Oysterman location. The original is in Duxbury. Both should bring quite a bit of new activity to the area.
