I really like this development, but the Car Gurus people have to be very disappointed at the readability of that sign. That's the only negative I see so far.

"Greenbush and North Scituate have commuter rail stations that serve the Greenbush line that connects Scituate with Cohasset, Hingham...
You have many excellent points. As far as I know, the state has given preliminary approval for Scituate being compliant with the MBTA Communities Law. As I mentioned, the tweaks to the Scituate zoning were just approved at Town Meeting in early April 2024, and I think those zoning changes...
If Scituate could not include the current multi-family already created under previous zoning, and the MBTA Zoning ONLY applied to NEW/FUTURE multi-family as was suggested up thread, then Scituate would have to return to the table to increase the number of dwelling units. This would involve...
ARTICLE 16. Amend Zoning Map and Zoning Bylaws for Village Center and Neighborhood Districts – Greenbush/Driftway Gateway District and North Scituate Village District for Compliance with MGL Ch 40A Section 3A of the Zoning Act for Multi-Family Zoning as of right in MBTA Communities and minor...
This is from our Advisory Booklet at Town Meeting: It easily passed by 2/3rd vote which is what was required for a change to zoning.
The town had already done work to change zoning around the commuter rail stations to increase available housing in close proximity to public transportation...
That would put a hardship on communities such as Scituate that zoned for denser development near their train stations years ago. When the Greenbush line was re-activated in 2007, Scituate did quite a bit of zoning work to encourage multi-family development around the town's two train stations...
I hope the new apartment residents don't complain about the Gay Pride Block Party that happens every Gay Pride on Chandler Street right in front of this building. 😊
I've had dinner at Stillwater and it's quite good. The chef is from Stillwater, OK. When my nieces came to visit last summer, they had to have dinner here as well since they all graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.
Returning trip from Washington D.C. last Thursday. (April 25th) It's always such a thrill to take the Hingham Ferry home from Logan, and I don't know why more people don't use it. It's so convenient and such a great view!
On a recent flight down to Washinton D.C., I had a nice view out of the window. This was taken Monday, April 22nd. The first photo really highlights the build-up around Kendall Square in Cambridge and Union Square in Somerville.
As others have stated, I've been super impressed with High Street Place programming. They have DJ nights and this coming Sunday, A Queer Food Fest! It always seems to be full of people well past the 5pm working hours. I would give Millenium a bit more of a break if they had some robust...
Interiors look really nice. I wonder how much was recycled from Lord & Taylor? I was only in Lord & Taylor a few times, but I don't remember those high clerestory windows. Plus, the exposed steel beams with fireproofing look new here.
Speaking of the fountain, does anyone know if the fountain on Milton Place is working, or will be working this summer? It was shut off last summer, and I don't know if it was because of construction at Winthrop or just totally unrelated. Now, this building is landmarked too! :)
Fantastic summary. Plus, we have beautiful mountains and forests to our north and west, plus fantastic beaches and islands for the entire coast. You can take a train from Boston to go skiing in the winter (Wachusett) and take the boat for summer beaches and nightlife. (Provincetown) We...
