Since I am not bumping the thread I will ask if anyone has heard the status of BU's planned addition to the Questrom building. It would face Bay State Rd. It was first announced the same time as the Dental school project. That is complete now and no word on the Questrom project.

Why not build a mixed development on the Tremont Crossing site with lots of subsidized housing? That huge site is sitting vacant while the activists nit-pick and have an existential meltdown about 840 Columbus, a site that Northeastern has owned for over 50 years.

True, but CGS students, who have historically lower stats than students admitted to other programs, are now out of the fall stats. Although CGS stats have risen in the last few years.

BU does the same thing. All CGS students enter in January so that their stats do not show up in the fall figures.

Any word on Northeastern's proposed dorm at 840 Columbus? Or are they waiting for Mayor Wu to extort more money from the university before approving it?

There is no mention of that site in the BU IMP. My guess is that BU has some long range plans for the site along with the classroom building (former auto parts shop) and the 575 Comm dorm (former HoJo). Possibly a mixed use project with Retail etc. on the first floor and BU departments above.

Years ago the sign on the old Hotel Essex downtown had 4 letters unlighted. The last 2 of the first word and the first 2 of the second woes. I figured it was due to truth in advertising.
