MXD II (Google Kendall) | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square | Cambridge

I agree. It's an inoffensive building and the tint in the glass kinda adds a little something. The quality of glass is top-notch, but yeah, it's very much a contemporary building trying so hard to push the concept and seem more creative like the activities meant to be going on inside. When I...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

New design looks like a blend between the two previous iterations. It's a shame we're losing the brick completely and I'm still not a fan of that subtle variation of color and tone in the panels that tries to approximate the character of brick, but this is definitely a step in the right direction!

Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

Just amazing how fast a building can go vertical when we don't mandate massive excavation works for on-site parking... 😏 This is filling in that corner of the outdoor room of Statler Park quite nicely.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Was in Union Square this weekend and got to see this from the other side... Was honestly really surprised about how suddenly I noticed this on the skyline (I don't often go to Union Square). Reminds me of the time I 'suddenly' noticed Millennium Tower looking down Somerville Ave from Porter.

Quincy Market Update/Renovation | Faneuil Hall Marketplace | Downtown

Sad how this slipped from Summer 2019 to ✨SOMETIME✨ in 2019. This should activate this corner way better than anything that was here before.

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

I hate all the glass/how boringly blue all of this is, but this is a million times better than the garage today.

Motor Mart Tower | 201 Stuart Str. | Park Sq | Boston

    1037 spaces -> 672 I love it.

Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

Yeah, it's got its own project page with some additional clarity about what's happening in each of the phases: https://mbta.com/projects/back-bay-station-improvements The platforms for tracks 1-3 also just got repainted/cleaned and all the lighting replaced, so it already looks much better...

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

Wow, this render really captures the growth happening here. Also a pretty solid design for infill. More of this. Though... I can't help but wonder how they could better execute those setback floors. Is it trying to mimic those height extensions on older buildings?

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

But if they went tall, they'd be menacingly imposing over North Cambridge and you'd cast shadows over the Commuter Rail maintenance facility and maybe even the highway! /sarcasm

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

That's the first time I've seen that MIT report from 2003 (referenced separately 3 times by people who didn't seem to realize the others had already posted it :ROFLMAO: )! I could feel the optimism for the future... and then promptly realized it's been almost 2 decades since the South Station...

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

LOL, 'Gotham-esque viaduct'... so dramatic. At least it's not as bad as ALL THE SPANS for I-93 in the South End.

NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

This is likely mostly tech/fintech workers getting paid boatloads of money. Also, for most of those multi-bed units are probably not being rented by a single person at that rate, but likely multi-person, non-familial households (working professionals with roommates). There's plenty of high-paid...

100 Shawmut Avenue | South End

Yeah, I’m happy to be proven wrong on this one. I still don’t like the design overall. I don’t think it’s a bad render. It’s just...jarring. 🤷‍♂️

Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

That's being done by Boston Properties on behalf of MBTA. They just added new doors and ventilation to the Northeast Corridor/tracks 1-3 platforms. Unclear when the bigger station reconstruction will happen.

Station Landing | Wellington Circle | Medford

I mean... Encore's room rates aren't exactly cheap and seems to be having an effect on the local housing market (supposedly units being turned into Airbnb accelerating to accommodate people staying for the casino). Seemingly we need more of everything. It's nice to have yet another parking lot...

    Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

There's something very satisfying about seeing a parking podium I've wanted to see torn down or converted finally rehabbed into something that isn't just dedicated to storing metal boxes. This place is going to be MOBBED every day after work, maybe moreso than Roche Bros' outpost at DTX. They'd...

100 Shawmut Avenue | South End

I've been wondering what was going on here and should've known to check ArchBoston... I hate to be the one poo-pooing this, but I actually find this to be... disrespectful to the original architecture being preserved here? It feels very Miami/Toronto meets the Industrial Revolution by way of...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Yeah, my joking aside about the facade, the quality of the glass and the panels looks great. But for every reason I can think of, this should've been as tall as originally proposed or even to the FAA-allowable height ceiling. It's a shame we're missing out on an opportunity to have more people...
