Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

I remember the Globe writing about Courthouse Station on the Silver Line when it opened. I think they mentioned it was one of the grandest and most beautiful Metro Stations in the world to ever be built. I think I spit out my coffee laughing at that one. So, the tradition for "inflating"...

I was being a little sarcastic in my post, because I am still kind of upset by the bait and switch from the original renderings. (I won't even mention the RFP requirement for an observation deck.) However, you are correct. It was lunch time, and the food locations were quite busy. There are...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

A few more from this past Thursday. I like the way they framed the tower coming through the pedestrian passage in the first photo. Do you think they thought about that, or is it a happy accident? LOL

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

I get what you are saying, but there is a line between artful exaggeration and outright dishonestly or deceit.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

The most iconic, amazing space to bring all Bostonians together over burgers and salads. :) As I ate my Greek chicken salad, I thought that no other space in Boston is so grand and unifying of all people. (........yah, not so much.)

Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part XVIII (2024)

SEXY Angles of Boston! I really like this one below with all the reflections. One Post Office Square!

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

I think this turned out really nice. The cafe called "Sip" is excellent. I wish there were more outdoor spots like this in Boston in February! I loved the reflection of the glass on this one below!

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I was at South Station on Thursday. (02.01.24) I tried to get a photo of the escalator over the construction fencing. :)

How long have you lived here?

I lived near Ball Square in Somerville until 1992, and I remember people speaking about a Ball Square Green Line Station at that time! It took 20 years later to actually happen. LOL

How long have you lived here?

I've lived in Somerville, Medford, Watertown, Chelsea, Upton, Ashland, Newton, and now Scituate. Never actually Boston proper. However, I feel that I've had a good range of housing types, walkability factors, and transit options. I always tell people that you have different needs at...

WFO/WFH Trends among aB community in 2024

Some of us don't even have offices. My company is located in San Francisco, and I think quite a few technology workers have the same condition. I am the sole employee in Massachusetts, and it's been that way for 10 years.

I really hope they find a new manager for the South Station public areas. I think Boston properties did an admirable job.

Looks GREAT. It's ironic that I just posted some photos of the South Station Concourse. See my post in the South Station Tower thread: http://archboston.com/community/threads/south-station-tower-south-station-air-rights-downtown.976/post-471898

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I had to travel down to NYC for business last week. After arriving and departing at the new Moynihan Train Hall in NYC, South Station seemed tired, dark, and a little dirty. I had about 30 minutes to walk around South Station Concourse while waiting for my Greenbush train. I used to just love...

    MA Liquor Laws

I'm currently writing this from NYC, and the number of restaurants is just crazy compared to Boston, even factoring in the population difference. Manhattan has some estimated 10,000 restaurants! Using Boston's formula, they would need a population of 10 million. In actuality, it's closer to...

How long have you lived here?

Now that you mention it, I really do miss the Computer Museum. It was a cool space with a walk-through PC that was 2 floors! I went to Faces a couple of times in the late 80's, but it certainly wasn't my scene. It seemed to more aligned with big hair girls from the North Shore. LOL...
