Pawtucket-Central Falls MBTA Commuter Rail Station | Pine and Barton Streets | Pawtucket

I have had similar thoughts. And now that it's been running for nearly 3 weeks, I'm even more convinced. The parking lot is still pretty empty and I've yet to see more than 4 or 5 riders on the platform to board the peak morning trains. It's weird to me that they'd re-launch service with a...

    Dyer Wharf | I-195 District | Providence

I wouldn't hate the proportions if there was some variation in the height rather than a roofline that's basically flat all the way across. When you look at the site plans, it's actually not a hulking building. But the flat roof combined with the width and lack of height/variation makes it look...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

That C to E connector will come in real handy if this is approved.

    Providence developments

Same here. But considering that the Hilton property owner is proposing the tower, it makes sense. And this will still be an upgrade over that parking deck.

    Providence developments

Yeah, this should be a relative no-brainer in this spot. It's not pretty, but I imagine the design will evolve.

Stadium & Riverwalk | Tidewater Landing | Pawtucket

True. I hope it rises quickly.

Stadium & Riverwalk | Tidewater Landing | Pawtucket

Even with the starts and stops, I'm surprised that this is all the progress they've made. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but I'm excited to see this stadium when it's open.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Does this design get anyone excited? It reminds me of a 1950/60s convention center proposal.

    New Bedford Developments

I don't think it's in the realm of "plans." I think it's more about trying to open up potential.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Well said. It's easy fodder for the media: "The MBTA is throwing another $150 Million at a CHINESE company to complete an already delayed existing contract!" And the media would be right. But the reality is that we badly need these cars, a lot has change since the initial contract was signed...

    Key Bridge Collapses in Baltimore

Obviously this is an incredible tragedy. It's a small silver lining that happened at 1:30am instead of 8am. I'm glad some survivors were pulled from the water and I hope the recovery efforts are able to give the families of those who didn't make it closure. Watching the footage of the collapse...

    New Bedford Developments

From what I understand, a not so insignificant amount. The primary argument now is that not having access to the upper harbor limits the offshore wind potential. With the current bridge, the width is a very real restrictive element. With the proposed new bridge, I'm not sure exactly what the...

    New Bedford Developments

Lots of back and forth about the proposal to replace the bridge. The city is looking for something higher (250+ feet) than what the state is proposing (125 feet vertical lift bridge) to accommodate offshore wind vessels. I'm not sure it's possible for a vertical lift to have that type of...

    Landmarking Brutalism

I love this building and the move to landmark it. It's a throwback to a very different time and really showcases those midcentury roots. And unlike the Hurley or City Hall, it was built on a human scale. I don't love the SSC, but I do appreciate the intricacy of the Lindemann (the Hurley...

Food Hall | Union Station | Providence

I walked around here last week and it doesn't look like anything's happening in there. I can't imagine a summer 2024 opening is realistic.

Developer seeks to build 'tiny apartments' in Providence

As much as I hate the standard NIMBY arguments and am all for building more/bigger/denser, I do understand the opposition to this one. There is a small apartment building across the street and some townhouses next door, but this is still a little out of scale for the neighborhood which is...

Downtown/Financial district infill and small developments

There are at least two in Eastie that are on the ground floor of buildings with residential units above. Berkshire Roots and BOUTIQ. I’m sure there are more.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I very nearly booked tickets for a June trip a few days ago. I’m glad I didn’t, they’re apparently not offering refunds. I’m also not unconvinced that the route announcements were to get a short term infusion of cash to stave off the inevitable.

East Boston Infill and Small Developments

It looks mostly good in my opinion. It makes the 7/11 look woefully out of place and in need of replacement which is a great thing as far as I'm concerned. But the blank brick wall and garage entrance on the Sumner St. side is pretty offensive. It's wildly out of context with it's attractive...

Pawtucket-Central Falls MBTA Commuter Rail Station | Pine and Barton Streets | Pawtucket

With a general consensus that interest rates should start trending downward in the near future, I think we'll see a lot of "approved" projects take their time to get going. Developers will want to hold off on securing financing if they think rates are going to be friendlier in 5 or 6 months.
