Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

I often get annoyed that when they redid the Filene's building, they didn't include overhangs along the entire facade. (They only included them at building entrances.) Unlike the Macy's building, which has a continuous overhang on two sides, and is a GREAT place to walk when it's raining or snowing.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

We should be electrifying the commuter rail if for no other reason that it will have immediate health and environmental benefits to all the communities it runs through. The air pollution when a train starts up at a station has been shown to be significant, and damages the health of everyone in...

The Quinn (née The Berkeley) | 370-380 Harrison Ave | South End

The City is waiting for the adjacent development to be completed before ripping out the median and rebuilding Harrison St with protected bike lanes. The developers are widening the sidewalks first.

    New Cape Cod Bridges

12' lanes makes sense here because the roadway is really limited access rather than a surface street. Hence why there is a separate bike/ped path rather than sidewalk + bike lanes.

In terms of where you can go on the T, it's actually very good. IMO only NYC has better transit coverage. It's the reliability that's the issue.

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

There actually already are bus shuttles from Union Station to the Big E run by King Ward. https://www.thebige.com/p/generalinfo/shuttles There is also a PVTA bus line that runs down Memorial Ave, the R14, although the schedule isn't great.

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

I wish that the 90 bus ran more frequently. That's the only other decent transit to Assembly, and connects to the rest of Somerville.

Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

The fact that they are not taking this opportunity to put protected bike lanes here is practically criminal. I personally think they should just turn the westbound lane into a two-way bike lane. It only exists for that one block anyway. Car traffic can just go around the block and use Stuart St.

    The New Retail Thread

Thumbs up for Time Out Market. Very high quality food at a range of prices. It's like a kicked up food court with alcohol and made-to-order food rather than the usual pre-made mediocre crap you get at malls.

I don't want to hear any more complaints from the locals about parking in Southie. This will definitely solve the problem. :-D

    Biking in Boston

I think the City is intending for the official South Bay Harbor Trail route to use Albany St from Melnea Cass to Frontage Road. There are already bike lanes along most if it.

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

If people are complaining about parking prices, that means they are working as intended. If parking were free, I guarantee traffic would be a total nightmare, and the lot will probably regularly fill up. People tend to only look at time-of-use costs when traveling, so if parking was free while...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

The T simply cannot keep up with maintenance. I've been told that it's largely a problem with the operating budget being far too low over a long period of time, even though the capital budget has more than they have been able to spend. So things are left to rot and then have to be completely...

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

They clearly didn't put any places to sit there so that the "undesirables" won't hang out there. ARGH.
