Pier 4 Office Building | 140 Northern Ave | Seaport

Re: Pier 4 Office Tower | 140 Northern Ave | Seaport Isn't this the main gripe people have who want better urban planning? The few inside will love it, while those outside get to look at boring boxes. I bet it's wonderful to live in Charles River Park, but that doesn't change that it's an...

Best view yet. Now we need this same view and vantage point once a month. Look what you did to yourself. Great pics BTW. Thank you!

Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

D = Diesel. E = electric. Electric better in so many ways, but requires electrification of the line. Major up front infracost on top of cost of new fleet. Should be the goal regardless and bite bullet up front versus being stuck with DMU's for 25-50 years, and finally replacing with electric.

The discussion was macro and you made it micro. You felt it needed to be micro, I disagree. I still do. Doesn't mean I don't agree with plenty you say. Doesn't change what I say in the broader scope of the discussion.

Not about not liking it. He misrepresents profits versus wages in a very Marxist way. It's also deflection as no one is arguing there are not class differences and everything isn't simple. But, the base point didn't need those depths or details. It doesn't mean many of the statements aren't true...

BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill Redevelopment | Charlestown

True, and ownership does not guarantee pay. If you ain't profitable, you don't eat. Not every owner is a millionaire CEO like in the news. They all aspire to be, but they don't all make it. Profits are not from workers not getting full value for their work. Profits are much more than what pays...

BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill Redevelopment | Charlestown

Analogous is not a definition. Everything doesn't need to fit the exact meaning when talking comparisons. People get too caught up in trying to sound smarter than everyone else to realize their is no point to their argument. Profit is to revenue as savings account is to gross pay. You don't...

BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill Redevelopment | Charlestown

Meh. While it's not profit, it's fairly well analogous. You make more money than you put out paying for all your costs to live, and the left over goes in the bank or is reinvested. The left over is pretty much your profit.

Most interior projects I work on nowadays are awash in multiple colours. Thankfully since I mostly work in labs. Glad it's not all white on white on white anymore. Exterior I think is being afraid to stand out or make a bold statement. You need a good design to highlight it with bold eye...

Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Seaport Parcels M1-M2 | Seaport Sq. | Seaport That and it doesn't interact with the street at all. It's a big, tall, glass slab. It's an icon and I love it, but if repeated 20 times adjacent in the same neighborhood, it would be awful. It's also a cause of major wind issues. The seaport...

Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Seaport Parcels M1-M2 | Seaport Sq. | Seaport The good news is, all the new buildings have much more pedestrian access at the street level compared to the Massport buildings from the previous decade. Those dedicated loading docks and exhaust louvers to entire stretches of sidewalk. It...

That general position has years and years of history backing it. Technology typically exists for a long time before it is implemented. You think union cabbies gave Uber a hard time? Wait til there's no driver. They are beta testing and extensively at that what are still in effect prototypes...

I wouldn't have included them if they had nothing to do....Everyone is so insanely sure of things and state everything as facts... cripes it's difficult on here sometimes. The point is, Americans don't change that swiftly. Despite the available options to us, as a whole we don't shift the...

People have high hopes on whatever these car pods are..... Hybrids have been on the market for almost 20 years at this point, and they have grabbed a whopping 3% of new car sales as far as market share. I have a hard time thinking we're going to see drastic shifts in personal choices in half the...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I will disagree with this as much as possible. Construction costs (union labor) is very high. This is part of the cost to build which much be recouped. This high cost drives the developer to build "luxury" housing to ensure ROI. Lower construction cost could allow for more affordable housing...

Oh, but those that think they know how a multi billion dollar conglomerate think about choosing where to build beg to differ with you. Over and over.. Red States suck. Blue States suck. End of story.
