We've seen some beautiful examples brick veneer done well lately. Lovejoy Wharf, 45 Wareham, Whitney Hotel, and the Quinn are all stand-outs, and the Henry is pretty decent as well. I think brick was the right choice here, but too bad they couldn't have achieved something of similar quality...

That picture of the Proctor Building is fantastic. I just looked on Google street view and the skeleton was there in November 2019 too. Different stance, looks like he was trying to climb the building. Anyone know if there's a story here?

^ Thanks for finding those again. I would have preferred the last of those renderings (the one with the dramatic cornice) over what's getting built now by a wide margin. Not just for the facade preservation and the cornice, but for its massing and quiet elegance. It's simple, "unoriginal"...

I agree with DZH22 about the Lucas. In fact I would say that I like it a lot. It manages to be both distinct from and tightly coupled to the original building, to be both quirky and dramatic. Love how the vertical beams mimic the buttresses below with their spacing and the tapered tops... hell...

Wow, can't believe it's visible already. It's as tall as most of the West End mid-rises. Alcott is looking great from afar as well.
