    Green Line Reconfiguration

DTX and State are really close to each other. OL Forest Hills at State and Oak Grove at DTX platforms are only about 20-30 feet apart at the ends of the platforms -- but I gather there is a transformer or other electrical switchgear in the intervening space that needs to be moved.

Hanover Everett | Second & Vine | Everett

Can we hope that it will be largely hidden by surrounding buildings?

Northeastern University Multipurpose Athletic Facility | 262 St. Botolph Street | Fenway

Boy, I hope this architect never gets their hands on Fenway Park!

    15-25 Harrison Ave | Chinatown

The ugly low rise across the street is a telecom switchgear building (bunker) -- not likely going anywhere. The problem with most of the parking lot parcels in Chinatown is they are not single parcels -- they are usually multiple small historical former row house parcels, owned by multiple...

    Proposed watertown ferry

Assuming they are paying fair freight for use of the public docking facilities for commercial purposes (and not looking for a hand out because of taking 10 cars off of the road, or more likely 10 passengers out of the 504 express bus). Also, need some assurance that they are going to actually...

    15-25 Harrison Ave | Chinatown

The current building is nice enough, but apparently it is structurally a mess due to poor internal modifications. Probably easiest that it goes anyway (costly to save).

    Proposed watertown ferry

That is a great link. The only down side is losing it in the winter.

    Proposed watertown ferry

With the 10 docking maneuvers, plus debark/embark, it is NEVER going to make 50 minutes Watertown to North Station.

    15-25 Harrison Ave | Chinatown

Good project. Big issue in most of these small footprint hotel projects, the curb space does not accommodate the vehicle demand created by the site (Uber, taxi, door dash...), so they block the road.

    Proposed watertown ferry

The 504 Express bus to Watertown is faster and will carry more people. Connecting from the Garden to Chinatown by T then on to the 504 is still faster than the ferry. Taking the Fitchburg line to Waltham then backtracking to Watertown by bus is also faster.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

One of the things to realize is that current MBTA bus revenue totals include (or miss) a lot of free rides on crowded bus situations where the driver gives up and lets all door boarding happen. I observed this a lot on the Silver Line Washington, for example.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

During the fare-free Bus 28 pilot 33% of riders were bus only; 66% transferred to rapid transit. I don't think the T counts this data on a regular basis. https://www.wbur.org/news/2022/02/25/mbta-bus-pilot-fare-free-savings-ridership

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

What about the Silver Line? Also at least Key Bus Routes should be all door boarding (really any bus that is commonly crowded). Not caring about dwell time issues with buses shows the MBTA really is not serious about transit performance.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Office section floor plate is probably too big -- there is a reason for the setback at the residential part of the tower. Also, all the utility issues exist in the office section (all centralized, not spread through the floor plate).

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Yep, gondolas to the Seaport, hyperloop to DC, wake-free high-speed ferries to Watertown. Grifters gotta grift.

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Yep, boring as shit landscaper. But hey, limestone veneer trim, so "quality" 🫣

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

I have commented on this (ahem questionable -- being charitable) idea before. Biggest challenge, the entire Charles River Basin from the Watertown Dam to the Charles River Dam is speed restricted (no wake zone). As boaters who use the slips up in Watertown can attest, transit time up and down...

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Not sure how you rate the "agency size" of LA Metro versus MBTA, but MBTA ridership and LA Metro ridership are pretty similar. 2023: Daily MBTA 730,000 (average all days of the week) Daily LA Metro 800,000 (average all days of the week)

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

To be fair, they are building 166 high end residential units on top of the station. The kind of residences where even people who use the train also own 2 or more cars in the city. People who live in Ritz Carlton Residences don't take the Peter Pan bus to Springfield.

    Red Line Extension to Mattapan

Well, considering the actual abutters are all dead, they are unlikely to show up at a community meetings. If they do, we have bigger issues.
