    Maxwell | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

Even though somehow a reduction in units and height is an improvement(??), overall I think it's noteworthy that with these changes, the parking ratio is reduced (1.7 to 1.25 spaces per unit) and they actually are not developing an abutting parcel (the previously proposed freestanding garage) so...

^^ Cambridge doesn't seem to have this problem and has areas that are very similar.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Every time I see activity in this thread I wonder which building it is because the name is so odd to me. Aside from the north side of Comm Ave, what makes this building Kenmore Square North? Also, the bike lane being gone for construction is extremely annoying.

    Grounding the McGrath

The entire roadway is being repaved, full width, for the length of the corridor. With the number of lanes that McGrath has, that is a significant cost.

SKY Everett | 114 Spring Street | Everett

With home prices for purchase so insanely high right now and interest rates very low, I would maybe suggest your company sell or turn-condo their multi-family investments? Free rent isn't crushing "people". Investors aren't getting much sympathy these days as property investing typically leads...

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

The pike on-ramp closure for construction has been so nice. I bike through daily and while sure the bike lane being gone because of the barriers is annoying, there are just so many fewer cars gridlocking the intersections. I'm not sure where people are driving instead to access the pike, but it...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

There are elements that they VE'd. For example the O'Neill Tunnel was supposed to have tile that went to the ceiling like the Williams Tunnel, but instead they just did 10 or so feet up. There was a document that I saw maybe 15 years ago(!?!) that talked about cost control.

The Engine (MIT) | 730-750 Main Street | Cambridge

This expansion was mostly a consequence of MIT not renewing Tootsie's lease on the parking lot on the corner of Windsor and State streets. They had to find a new spot for their loading dock. Not sure what MIT plans to do with that lot instead though...

Union Square Somerville Infill and Small Developments

16ft is the "natural" length of a parking space when you have vehicles of multiple lengths along a block face. It evens out that way. It will not work if the spaces are individually marked. Marking spaces removes all the benefit of picking up space from short vehicles and giving it to longer...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

AND it will be extended to Ruggles with construction starting later this year or early next year. https://mass.streetsblog.org/2021/04/01/boston-mbta-win-funding-to-extend-columbus-ave-bus-lanes-to-ruggles/

MXD II (Google Kendall) | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square | Cambridge

That is quite confusing as those building labels have been phased out and there really isn't any map that I could find that lists which buildings are which. Vanity addresses are really annoying, From the CRA website: 2015 The Cambridge Center project was rebranded as Kendall Center and...

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

So odd that for every alternative they were like hmm which historic government building should it go under? The State House? The court house? City Hall?

    Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

Those aren't roundabouts though. Roundabouts are much safer than the rotaries we have here. They are typically the safest type of intersection control.

Malden + Melrose Infill and Small Developments

12-16 Essex St Melrose. Originally a smaller project that got axed because the existing shack was "historic", has returned as a 40B to bypass those regulations. The Melrose Ped/Bike Committee had a nice summary of the project: PBC Letter of Support: 12-16 Essex 40B Development - Ped/Bike...

North End Cross Street Boutique Hotel | 42 Cross Street | North End

I think it's important to note that the curb cut is just being relocated from Salem St to Cross St, which allows the corner to be a permanent pedestrian plaza. The paver area is the historic Cross St alignment as pointed out earlier and it is still city property. They cannot build over it...

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

As someone who lived in Stetson West just over 10 years ago, I liked it. My other NU dorms [Loftman, 110 St Stephen, 144 Hemenway (nice new facade now!)] also worked well for me. I always opted for the older buildings because they were cheaper than West Village, Dav, etc., which also lacked a...
