Malden + Melrose Infill and Small Developments

Some changes appear to be coming to the 521 Franklin St proposal. I really hated the initial design. Felt somewhat like a Colorado ski-resort condo vibe?? New proposal looking to be a modern mansard take. The City's website is a little difficult to follow as they just sort of haphazardly update...

....and they have no plans to build it anytime soon

Northeastern University - Institutional Master Plan

It says White Hall has been demolished? Haven't been over there in a while. Is that so? I know they closed it due to structural issues, but it would be news to me that they took it down.

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

AND people turning right onto Albany love to swing into the bike lane (for unclear reasons since they can certainly make the turn without doing that).

    49-51 D street | South Boston

D St being realigned and also made to have a tree lined median was interesting to see.

West Cambridge / Alewife Area Infill & Small Developments

This will be a REALLY big undertaking for the T! Some things: - Realign Cambridgepark Drive to meet Rindge Ave directly - Build the ped/bike paths on either side of the Fitchburg ROW - Infill commuter rail station - Several bridges across the tracks - Already a precedent for tall buildings here...

MXD Residential Tower | 121 Broadway | Kendall Square

This article from 2017 talks a bit about it: https://news.mit.edu/2017/cambridge-city-council-approves-mit-volpe-zoning-petition-1023 ^Fourth photo in the slideshow shows a birds eye aerial (lol because that's a fun way of showing something tall without it looking tall) height limits ranging...

But why render that gigantic no parking sign that is not even something that would be there?? I'm dying.

https://www.cambridgema.gov/-/media/Files/historicalcommission/pdf/mcmeetingfiles/currentcases/mc6689303harvardst39aleest.pdf The bedroom labels add up to 50, but the apartment summary labels only add up to 48. I think it's because units 22 and 32, which despite clearly showing 3 bedroom labels...

    Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

I noticed that the apartment building at 303 Harvard St/39A Lee St has been gutted. https://maps.app.goo.gl/MGE4Y2yX8EwKeWhq7 While it's staying 16 units (currently mostly 1-beds and a couple studios), it's going from 16 bedrooms to 50 bedrooms. Normally I wouldn't call an interior renovation...

    Roxbury Infill and Small Developments

My condo is about 2ft above ground level, but when I sit on the couch, my head is still lower than people walking down the sidewalk. I HATE it. Shades always mostly closed (I have the bottom-up type)

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

I think it's because given this location, it would make sense to have a restaurant open to the public there, not just an office building's cafe. This is an office building in the middle of a retail and tourist area.

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

Glad they are filling in that spot, though it's pretty glaring that there should be ground floor retail.

    Dana-Farber Cancer Center | 1 Joslin Place | Longwood

If these buildings didn't overhang the sidewalk, they might not end up being so imposing. The one next to this at Longwood Ave causes me so much anxiety being near it. Not that it's gonna fall over or anything, bit it just gives me "bursting at the seems" energy.

I wish it didn't have the stripe at each floor.

Harvard Square Infill and Small Developments

Since this thread was bumped, wanted to update my comment to say that apparently this was proposal was canceled because they ended up just repairing the exterior pretty much as it was.
