Here in Orono today…thinking about Portland’s CIA debacle. UMaine is spending $80 million on a new 2,500 seat facility. True it will have sports medicine, traning/fitness facility, offices, efc….but also it will feature some donor/up-charge suites overlooking football stadium and basketball...

Definitely an issue when it comes to future land use. I always joke about how some cemeteries in Maine have the nicest views....overlooking the ocean, lakes, etc. I'm sure that the people buried in them really appreciate it!😉. I wonder where the % of embalming vs. cremation stands now? I...

    Scarborough, ME

Maine must have the worst business climate in America. Good luck at making Scarborough Town Center a go......everyone claims they want local businesses.....then said local businesses can't seem to attract enough customers or stay open long enough to make it. Limited hours, shoddy service and...

Another updated pic of Alfond Arena/Walsh Center renovation. That roofline is something you don't see everyday in Maine. The origami design definitely looks like it will blend seamlessly with the existing Alfond roofline.

Portland, Maine needs to be more like Boston and less like Manhattan....at least from a mentality perspective. The city seems a bit snobbish but also rudderless at the same time. Yes, you have the ocean and Old Port....but make Portland a bit more livable, friendly and inviting and don't take...

    Bangor, Maine

A beautiful sunset in Bangor last night. I have to say that the city is looking pretty good these days. You can tell that there has been an influx of new blood and $$$ to the area. And I love the Paul Bunyan statue. The city really keeps it well maintained.....it's iconic! The Cross...

I love that they kept many of the mature trees that surround that parcel. If only more of Maine realized the resource and beauty that grows all around us.

Portland, ME - The Existing Environment

Totally agree. Maine in general doesn't seem to care about maintenance of public spaces, landscaping, etc....and winter clean-up is usually left to spring and summer rainstorms.
