Also....are people that buy $1 million+ condos REALLY bus riders? Me thinks not.

You'd think that housing would be in demand in this area....at the confluence of I-295 and the Maine Turnpike....in the middle of Maine's largest retail area.......duh! Get it done developers!

Not really. I take a bus to Logan because financially and convenience wise it make sense. I'm not being forced to take a city bus which can compromise both health and safety. I do realize that the bus/bike mafia in Portland is very powerful though.

Are people signing leases based on whether this is called the John Ford Building.....or the Beyonce Building?

Why aren't they formulating a plan for this entire complex? This could be a great residential/retail development with parking garages shrinking the need for surface lots.....sigh.

The Town Center could have been Maine's Walnut Creek (CA)....sigh.

So this has turned into a full steam ahead "we must destroy Jim Crow era buildings" than "let's build an incredible new addition to the Portland Museum of Art"? I see. Is the museum director associated with Disney? Asking for a friend.

Portland seems to want to make everyone ride a bus....are they doing anything for EVs?

I'm not happy at the way it came about.....but I am admittedly happy that the new building will be a name that I (and others) can pronounce. That might sound very "white boy" of me....but sometimes I feel that we unnecessarily complicate things even though we had the best intentions.

Portland will always have its vintage power poles & lines though!

When (not if) there is a turn in the other direction for the real estate market....it could get real ugly for some Portland property owners (glub glub).
