    Reasonable Transit Pitches

I suppose I just think of LA as being so large but that is interesting. Geographically large but ridership wise not so much. LA metro doesn't include the commuter rail but MBTA does. A bit apples to oranges I suppose.

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

LA Metro has issued and does issue special edition and commemorative cards regularly. A much larger agency of course.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

Good info. I didn't think through it like that in terms of being potentially lower risk for the T.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

This has been hard for me to follow. It is clear that the T didn't want (or at least didn't see political and financial support) to go it alone on electrification so accepted this proposal. The idea seems to be that by choosing this hybrid BEMU that also in motion charges/uses OCS to power when...

I haven't been able to stop by recently. Is the underpass open yet? Are busses using the new shelter yet?

Cambridge Style, or Every Possible Type of Housing

I won't dox myself completely but say that the building I live in made it into one of your photos ;) It is a fantastic neighborhood and my kids walk to school and we can walk and bike past neighbors and shops that we have come to know well. Love it.

    Biking in Boston

If you want to weigh in on this issue the Cambridge City Council meeting on Monday April 29th will be taking comment and voting on the policy order that would delay that project and others. If you want to get involved, Cambridge Bicycle Safety is organizing people to speak. You can get involved...

    Biking in Boston

Happy to see it. Also, I thought we had learned our lesson from Vassar St that there needs to be some buffer between the cycle track and the walking are to reduce conflicts.

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

I've been seeing the new readers on my bus lately (62). So far the most I've seen is 2 near the front door. One right next to the existing fare box (on your right as you board) and one mounted to the pole as you get to the first seat (on the left as you pass). Haven't seen one at a rear door...

    Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

Before they put up that fencing to work on the restaurant the night time lighting made it look quite inviting when I was over there in December.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I believe so, here is a map I put together from MassDOT documents of the Pike Parcels. I am sure there are errors but it matches up generally with the BU master plan map.

    17 Farnsworth | Seaport

My only thought is that is should be a floor taller but the straight on view where I feel that way won't really be seen from the ground (narrow street) so, OK. Agree, better than a parking garage.

The asbestos mitigation seems to be the biggest piece of this. Also not currently occupied?

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

I like it a lot! I would even go farther and propose an at grade T intersection with Storrow at grade with crosswalks etc.

    800 Morrissey Blvd | Dorchester

Plus one for the street wall and and infill Red Line station! I was looking around google maps after reading through this post this morning and the Red Line was my first thought. I know there have been ideas floated to move the Ashmont/Braintree Red Line split until after Savin Hill as part of...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I thought that they needed to be 225' to fit two Type 10s. (obviously there are no Type 10s in existence yet, so TBD). Pages 41 to 45 in this doc (from 2018) says that the platform length needed is 225 feet for 2 of the proposed Type 10s and then lists the platforms that don't meet this (a few...
