Commonwealth Pier Revitalization (née Seaport WTC)| 200 Seaport Boulevard | Seaport

That looks... not great. Maybe it's the pictures. But it looks like a facadectomy, and the back end is cheap.

It really isn't clear that those dashes mean "walking distance".

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I have many fond, fuzzy memories of smoking pot in that spot when I was in college.

NYC City Council Shifts Broker Fees From Renters to Landlords

As a former realtor myself, good. There are far too many terrible realtors screwing over renters. That will never go away entirely, but this should greatly reduce the practice. The only argument I do buy is that landlords will factor this into the rent. So I expect to see more 18 month leases...

    New York City Congestion Pricing

Hochul looks weak with everything she does. This is just the most recent poor decision. She is only Governor because Andrew Cuomo needed to balance out the ticket. She's really bad at her job.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

That's some sexy density. I know it's not a biog deal in the grand scheme, but I've always hated the name "West Station". Like, I get that they are trying to connect it to North and South Stations, but it's terrible for place making. Allston is a thing.

It's a shame what passes for architecture these days.

I'm not saying they are the most attractive towers, but turning them into just another glass box isn't the answer. They have more character than many modern towers, and represent an important period of growth in the city.

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

I've moved the existing thread from the "Design a Better Boston" forum to the "Transportation" forum as this is more than just some crazy transit pitch.

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

This would be a great addition to the city if it wasn't for it's baggage.

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

I'm very skeptical if a full tunnel would ever pass the cost-benefit analysis. Cut and cover would shut down the path for years. TBM would be less disruptive, but also require deeper stations. Arlington can grow, but can it grow so much as to justify a Red Line extension? Can Lexington, for that...

This is, hands down, the best development of the decade.

This is a good looking building. Shame it's not 100 stories tall.

    NYC Architecture and Development

LIC is such an odd place. It has all the hallmarks of a real urban neighborhood. Yet it's so new that much of the character isn't there yet. Most of the people who actually live there are well off enough to spend their time elsewhere. Not to mention, many of these buildings are straight up...
