Its OK. Biggest letdown is that they're not getting rid of the Hurley building entirely, just sprucing it up. At least we have another tower to look forward to, if this gets approved.
I dont get the love for the Fed either. The tower looks like it was inspired by an old school laundry washboard. The base and plaza are typical streetscape-killing brutalist crap.
A recladding will do. Maybe some dark, almost black glass to add variety to the area. The low rise portion has got to go. Build a new base around the tower that fronts the street. Win-Win-Win.
Its an improvement overall I guess. Better streetscape, activity on the greenway. But, although I'm not one for "sculpture" buildings, I kind of liked this one.
Its up there, but c'mon. Worse than the State Service Center? O'Neal building? TOTC?
