Rio Grande (née Dudley Square Residential Tower) | Washington St. | Roxbury

Your concern is that the empty storefronts are going to be filled? My point perhaps different than yours but, more on what I was trying to say: From Bisnow: As other Boston neighborhoods have boomed this development cycle, Dudley Square and Roxbury haven’t seen the same rush of success...

L Street Station Redevelopment (née Old Edison Plant)| 776 Summer Street | South Boston

I agree. Can someone break it down in black and white for me?

    Hyatt Place/Ora Seaport (née Parcel K) | 315 Northern Avenue | Seaport

The last document on the BPDA website includes proposed changes to this project. Doc was published in .. 2016, I think? It says the developer was looking to change its original agreement to include 40 "affordable" units, presumably downward. Anyone know if this came to pass?

    The New Retail Thread

Totally. Also, 1) Then they'll begin construction on the adjoining lot now that it's gone out to bid (and has been awarded?), and we'll still be stuck. 2) I'm going to guess they aren't going to open the gate in the fence that goes down Congress Street, are they. It may not really end up...

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

At the end of the day, it might not be anything like that to cause a "crash". Rumblings are that the new "mansion tax" is putting NYC into a "chill". But it could be temporary, or maybe the real estate people are trying to scare everyone...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Thank you for that searingly helpful comment.

Oxford Office Bldg. | 125 Lincoln St | Leather District

Commercial buildings are not required to contribute to the IDP affordable housing fund. However, the city extorts money from commercial developers by forcing them to pay into a jobs and housing trust. Proposed increase by the mayor: $9.03 per square foot for housing contributions, and $1.78...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

You're all bigger stadium aficionados than I so you're probably intimately aware of what's happened in South Philadelphia where they've built three stadiums to house baseball, football, hockey, and basketball games. We were down there for the first time this weekend and I was really impressed...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

OMG how long has it been since I've been to the corner of Dorchester Ave/St??! I can't believe the plumbing building is gone and construction underway!

Omni Hotel @ BCEC | Summer St | Seaport

OMG that's a messy turn of events. This project seems to have exploded with activity now that they are on to building the floors. And the steel girders seem .. really big? Head for the Omni when the next hurricane comes.

South End Infill and Small Developments

Ah, that explains why they emptied out the building. Looks like it will be a great renovation. One needs to ask, though, what happened to all the tenants in there? They had plenty of notice, I think, since the owner bought it a few years ago and the writing was on the walls, but if I remember...

    Chinatown Infill and Small Developments

Thanks, Jeff! Who owns Tai Tung Village? I remember something from a few years ago where Trinity Financial wanted to add housing to the existing project somewhere in Chinatown, but this isn't that, is it? If I remember correctly, at the time there was an outcry?

BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

There's a hearing tomorrow night at the BPDA to eliminate 300 underground parking space from this project. It's not clear to me if this is news or not; the PNF says they weren't going to include any parking, or is that wrong?

Plan Nubian Square Parcel P-3 (née Tremont Crossing) | Roxbury

Surprising absolutely no one, the BPDA will hear a request from the team behind Tremont Crossing to extend its designation as designated developer until they get their shit together.

    The New Retail Thread

From Boston Restaurant Talk: "It's like deja vu all over again, as Eddie Merlot's is once again trying to open in Boston's Seaport District (this time replacing another restaurant)." Not really "replacing" another restaurant. The column says this will go into the shuttered Uncle Pedro's...

    The New Retail Thread

My guess is the complaints from existing restaurants is that almost all of them are required to serve food with alcohol on their premises, including in their outside seating areas, whereas you can go into a beer garden and just drink ... beer. So, the random passerby who just wants a drink says...
