I think it's fine to call not eating fried chicken as a way to promote gay rights "slacktivism". Especially considering the fact that it's a boycott against a company which isn't even available in the area which you live. It's not a bad thing, and we're all guilty of it.

I'm all for voting with your dollar. If you don't agree with their politics/actions, don't go. I just don't like the idea of people trying to block the existence of a bar/store/restaurant just because they don't agree with an owner's politics. I remember the owner of a bar in my college town...

It's cool to see the peak of the downtown skyline shifting towards South Station/Downtown Crossing. Potentially adding Bromfield, Winthrop Square, and South Station Tower to the skyline is going to be a total game-changer. It also seems possible that eventually the skyline shot from Boston...

Yea, but he showed that some of them actually are promoting views of acceptance and inclusion, and that donations are often franchise-based. If that's true, then what's the gripe?

Pretty crazy that 7 of Boston's 10 tallest buildings are either U/C or proposed. The quiet, conservative city is starting to grow up a bit!

I like the idea of a building in Chinatown having strong Asian influences in its design...but wow. There has to be a happy medium out there, and this certainly isn't it.
