Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Isn't that just the work that they've been doing in the ticketing hall?

Oh well, could be worse. At least it's not the news-print dots.

The Benjamin & VIA (née One Seaport Square) | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport We've already got one right across Seaport: Bee's Knees on Farnsworth.

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

The cynical part of me wants to think that this is a brilliant ploy by MBTA PR to show folks riding by "Hey! We're doing things! Look at how much of an improvement it is already! Just imagine what it'll be like when its finished." But I reckon the reason it's down is much more practical than that.

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

10-15 story buildings along any of those streets would be... jarring to say the least. Lining the streets on both sides with buildings that tall would basically annihilate any sort of natural sunlight at street level. Moreover, any sort of retail/large developments in that area between Davis...

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

Moreover, how do you manage to do that in Davis without taking a very large chunk of said businesses out at one time? Kinda feels like any development that would make sense for a developer would need to take out an entire block of businesses...

It is happening though, slowly but surely. Johnny D's is going that way next year isn't it?

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Actually, that would be pretty great, especially if they target the bus service to the areas where the GLX would run. Bumping up the 69, 87 and 88 would be a real boon on the weekends.

Will the state be on the hook for any more mitigation projects given the new delay?

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Re: MBTA Survey - Pick the New RL, OL, & GL Livery It's obviously one of CRRC's (formerly CNR) stock backgrounds. Actually, screw the trains, can we have those stations instead?

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

If I remember correctly, there's a bit of controversy about it. Neighbors don't want it and are alleging corruption in city hall is what got it through.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Would the stations abutting active heavy rail lines force the MBTA's hands on any of these? Perhaps there are FRA best practices/guidelines in play here? Or does FRA not apply to rapid transit?

    Boston 2024

The recent influx of residents to/growth in desirability of downtown districts? Its not as if cities have an appetite for clear-cutting neighborhoods for urban renewal anymore.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

They've already got plans to VE the stations, but they estimate that'll only shave off $100m or so. Still a lot of overruns there.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

So how does Somerville's lawsuit play into this? Also what about all of the work being done contingent on this? The Union Square redevelopment plans basically can't go forward without this.

AFAIK, its still occupied. I see a guy going in and out of there on occasion. I think he's pretty adamant on sticking around and has a No Eminent Domain flyer posted... along with an old tin Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages advert that I'm tempted to nick.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

As far as I know, they only fly 787s for their long haul routes. Don't see why this would be any different.

Public Food Market | 136 Blackstone Street | Haymarket | Downtown

So I just noticed that on the vendor map, the area that contains booths 45 and 46 is still blocked off/under construction. Anybody know if/when those are going to be opened up? Or would those only be finished once the remaining empty stalls fill?

    100 Pier 4 | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport

Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport Bon Me already has a branch over on Congress and another going in at the Public Market. Clover might be the better option. I think Downtown and the Seaport are just about the only commercial areas left that don't have one yet.

Public Food Market | 136 Blackstone Street | Haymarket | Downtown

It was a Friends and Family preview. I think I heard somewhere that they've got a public soft opening today from Noon to 8 as well.
