But fewer and fewer blocks of Boston are what I consider to be "continuous retail" a la Manhattan avenues. You lose a lot of vitality when a block like this gets redeveloped.

No, I'm inclined to say that this should entirely replace SL1. But also, instead of sneijder's routing (which I agree is the fastest) I'd stay on Summer and get onto 90 at D Street. That way you can have a two other pickup/dropoff point in the Seaport, well-spaced: at A Street and at BCEC.

Is Boylston St the in Back Bay being redone? Looks like they have removed some trees, are prepping for a wider north-side sidewalk in places (?) and are generally out reconstructing things?

Maybe this thread should be in Greater New England (not sure) but it does deserve it's own thread especially if it's transformative. I only click into the broad Worcester thread occasionally when I happen to see it's active.
