    Rose Kennedy Greenway

Apparently the cost of the tents, logistics, and police details. The latter was a big factor. Also, the site is difficult in terms of storage and access. The original intent of the Boston Farmers Market was to have a permanent presence on the Old Northern Avenue bridge. But maybe now they...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

The Boston Public Market near South Station will not be happening this year due to financial constraints. Hopefully they'll make a permanent comeback in '09. I really liked this farmers market...

    Commonwealth Avenue Improvement Project

Apparently they already laid new piping on the rest of Beacon St. before it was reconstructed, except between St. Paul and St. Mary's. The town says the reconstruction occurred too fast, hence they have to tear up the newly paved roadway. Cleveland Circle is in Brighton, so I don't know if the...

    Commonwealth Avenue Improvement Project

It took two years to complete the Beacon Street project. The project realigned the road way to two lanes of traffic in either direction, added bike lanes in certain sections, a ton of new signals were added (yet to be synchronized) and sidewalks and new lighting were put in place in the three...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

You can't compare Post Office Square Park and the Greenway. PO Square is entirely private property. It's funding source were from deep corporate pockets. The Greenway was within the realm of the public process. If you were in Boston 15 years ago, then you know about all of the public...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

czsz you are incredibly naive. Naive about the Greenway Conservancy and naive about what the Greenway will do to downtown. Clearly you do not understand what has resulted from the Big Dig. I apologize for the personal attack but it has become clear that you have misjudged the Conservancy and...

Photo of the Day, Boston Style - Part Deux

It's the lighting and the fact that the focus is on the trees, so the buildings come out slightly blurry (or 'surreal'). Play around with it man.

30 North Margin Street - North End

Local 7 is one of the most politically connected unions in Boston. They helped get Stephen Lynch (D-South Boston) elected to congress. Sadly, this development will get built as is even with the ridiculous height and the obnoxiously large garage.

30 North Margin Street - North End

You're exactly right. They once had a place in the labor world, but they now exist to serve their self interests. I actually side with the residents on this one. The developer thought by teaming up with the union that they could "muscle" this project in to the North End. Wrong. Dead wrong.

    Hairbrained Menino Schemes

The mayor wasn't responsible for the harbor cleanup - it took a federal judge to make that happen. Better water from the Quabbin? You have the MWRA to thank, not the mayor. A bustling port? You have good economic times and the hard work of Massport to thank, not the mayor. A giant windmill...

    Is parking too cheap?

You've got it wrong my friend. Those 'roof top parking lots' belong to Herb Chambers for his Honda-Infiniti-Mini-Porsche-etc. dealership located on Comm. Ave. Come to think of it, the TJ Maxx on Harvard St. (the lowest red square towards the bottom of the pic) ought to have rooftop parking...
