    Roslindale Infill and Small Developments

Pretty sure this is now part of the 18-22 Arboretum Road Project I don't see a thread for it on ArchBoston

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

This just makes me sad. The plaza is what it is because the city makes money leasing that open space in the middle. If that wasn't a requirement of the design it could have been a lot more interesting. I agree that the spatial arrangements could be better but why go backwards in architecture...

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I agree except for the big white mechanical box facing the water (right side of the third picture). That feels undeveloped compared to the rest of it. I know we need mechanical spaces but given where it is, it can't just blend in. I'm hoping something more happens there with landscaping or...

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Anything new at the Lyra at 252/258/264 Huntington Avenue?

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

10 stories is a construction type cut off. You can go to about 120' with light gauge steel. Above that you need to move into concrete or heavy steel with the price jump. So that height is one that can be more financially manageable than taller. And given that we haven't seen any new resi even...

    Logan Airport Capital Projects

I love the form of this building and the visibility from the air and across the harbor. I do wish that they could improve the arrivals hall, it is so dumpy and not a great entrance to the city. I came through in mid-March and was reminded of how disappointing it always is.

Kindred Hospital Site Redevelopment | 1515 Commonwealth Ave. | Brighton

Can someone explain what the landscape fabric (?) cones are in this picture^? I don't think I've seen them before in construction and am curious.

One Harbor Shore Dr. | Fan Pier Parcel H | 1 Harbor Shore Drive | Seaport

I don't understand what's going on between the building and the existing park. The building is higher than the park, right? So what is all of the boardwalk between them? Why trees? wouldn't it be better to blend the building landscape into the existing

Dick’s House of Sports | Prudential Center | Back Bay

While I agree that this is a perfect site for housing, no one is proposing that. Someone is proposing a Dick's Sporting Goods. What is the city supposed to do beyond seizing the site and building housing here? I supposed they could rezone to encourage high rise residential, but no one is...

    The New Retail Thread

Yeah, I even would have preferred the former Arclight location at North Station.

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

Man, That signage is kind of dire.

Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

I'd assume it comes down once the new one is up and running

Stanhope Hotel | 39 Stanhope Street | Back Bay

The height really helps the proportions. It's much more elegant now

    Block G | 120 Seaport blvd | Seaport sq

I'd like to see a PNF filing at the BPDA with an architect attached to the project. This is all about entitlements to build this building not actually doing so.

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

I know they need the extra space that the addition provides to fund this but man, that is not good. Dimella Shaffer can do so much better

    Block G | 120 Seaport blvd | Seaport sq

Is this even a project? There was a change to the PDA made recently but AFAIK there is no actual proposal for this site (or there isn't one on the BPDA website or in the news). Does someone know more?

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Every other train station in the world? I was there during the height of Covid and it was horrible to be packed into a very full ticketed Amtrack space when there was so much empty space available and not being used.

    11-21 Bromfield Street | DTX | Downtown

You do realize the BPDA does what the mayor tells them to do? So this was Marty's baby. When he left Janey and Wu haven't pursued it until now.

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

It clearly says it's for children. I'm waiting for an opportunity to go down, but it's probably not designed for adult sized people

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

This is so much better than the rewarmed 585 Kendall. It is a solid background building, which is good in this location.
