Thanks for the update! Will the Chelsea busway have a higher maximum speed than the South Boston transitway?

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

Natick reaches agreement with CSX on the Cochituate Rail Trail. They've agreed on a purchase price, but Natick still has to find the funding. This is the stretch of ROW that connects Natick center to the short section in Framingham that has already been built.

Bike lanes in Marlborough? I stumbled across this - I don't actually know much about Marlborough. It just didn't strike me as the sort of place that would be putting in any bike infrastructure, however modest.

River Path from Galen Street to Bridge Street closed for maintenance work I don't think we've covered this one yet. Another portion of the river paths being rehabbed. So Watertown is doing (1) this stretch west of Watertown Sq, (2)Greenough Greenway. DCR is looking at (3) Anderson underpass...

    Biking in Boston

I'm not entirely sure I fully understand the scope of this project, but I thought it bore mentioning: https://twitter.com/StreetsBoston/status/656462832133906432 More info here But that's from an advocacy foundation, so I'm not sure how much of their vision is being implemented.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link Novice question: Has there been any consideration given to procuring EMUs for use on the Providence Line, since it is already electrified as part of the NEC? It would be a good advertisement for the benefits of the electrification of the CR system and would make the...

They've removed all the temporary fencing from the SCP's Lowell St extension. Obviously that stretch has been functionally open for months now, but the ramp at the Lowell St end now connects. It looks like they still have a little work to do on the stairs.

    Biking in Boston

Just biked by the intersection of Elm/Somerville earlier today. A big Redbones truck was occupying the entire bike box.

    Biking in Boston

It's not as critical as fixing the Cambridge St mess, to use one example, but it should be a good opportunity to demonstrate the value of cycle tracks and shared streets in a downtown setting. Hopefully it will be a success and can be held up as something to build on, along with the Comm Ave...

    Biking in Boston

Thanks for the update. Certain portions of the street are becoming almost entirely unrideable; I've been avoiding some or all of it by taking Park St or going through Union, as I'm sure are hundreds of others. Can't wait for the new design to be completed.

Has there been any update on when the Beacon St reconstruction project will begin? The utility work seems to have died down; I was hoping that they would have started the meat of the project by now.

    Biking in Boston

I biked commuted through the winter for the first time last year without many issues (I ride a hybrid, so I have a bit more traction than a road bike). The roads around here are so heavily salted and sanded that ice isn't as big an issue as one might think. It's really only a problem if it's...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Re: Green Line to Medford to start in 2011 My understanding is that Cobble Hill doesn't exist as a hill any more because it was leveled for use as landfill in the 1800s.
