    Conley Terminal cranes arriving

If you get a recent Conley satellite image, you can see how massive these are compared to the older models:

    Fenway HoJo's Redevelopment | 1271 Boylston Street | Fenway

That real Airstream is a lot bigger. Probably the luxury suite.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Yeah. There should be a little "Coming Soon" peel-off sticker put over them like it's an Advent Calendar hiding our gifts.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

The T has posted this on their October 29th weekly Greenline Transformation email: As a reminder, D Branch trains now run to North Station, and both B and C Branch trains proceed eastbound to Government Center before turning around. These service changes, which began last weekend, will help...

    Conley Terminal cranes arriving

Yeah but Saint John is an even smaller footprint niche port with very difficult tides. After seeing what they are doing there I no longer believe that Boston can't grow its long distance reach. Even if stuff has to be scattered out by truck to Worcester, Ayer, Framingham (Adesa), Westborough...

    Conley Terminal cranes arriving

I'm guessing from this story that those ships are coming through the Panama Canal so they are hitting the southern ports first. Anything coming through the Suez Canal should reach Boston first and if we had decent rail service maybe some traffic could be shaved off the top. Looking at a map...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Yeah not a very inviting place to walk or ride. Note to all you graffiti defenders . . . not good.

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

New type of car for Mattapan? Just found this: The T's plan is to eventually replace the refurbished trolleys with newer cars borrowed from the Green Line (Type 9s), but given a host of recent safety issues at the MBTA, Driscoll said he's worried that maybe that idea should be scrapped, and...

    Industrial Base Disappearing

That supports the initial auguement. It is important to retain the existing scarce industrial zones because we will never be able to build them again.

    Industrial Base Disappearing

And how do these new modern industries take away our garbage, store fuel for our homes and vehicles, provide cement and building materials for new construction, recycle our scrap metal, cross-dock and distribute produce, etc.?

    Industrial Base Disappearing

If they offer the rare combination of water and rail access, then yes. That's the combination you need. We should be encouraging more use of these modes to get more trucks off our already congested roads.

    Industrial Base Disappearing

Just read the thread about the Domino Sugar site being developed in Charlestown. There is a massive industrial area across the river in Everett that is for sale and the city of Everett wants to turn that whole area into housing, hotels, restaurants, etc. Of course there is an understandable...

Do you think it is possible to run wire through the tunnel for SL1?

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I believe they are going to rebuild part if not all of the railroad bridge. There may be an issue with the sharp curve and grade coming off the bridge now meeting the new alignment.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

With all of the difficulties and challenges designing this project, you really don't think the fact that they were adamant about building a double track to the Grand Junction, a single track railroad, means anything?

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Over a major highway? I'm not so sure about that. Show us some in Boston. This is the best you will get:

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

No renderings of what the new Grand Junction bridge is going to look like. That nice sleek pedestrian bridge is probably going to end up being an ugly chain-link fence tube however. Best solution. Thankfully they came to their senses.

Sounds like he stepped on the "gas" instead of the brake for the last few seconds.
