    High Speed Tolls

Are there any plans to redevelop the Weston interchange following the implementation of open road tolling? The mess of ramps makes the Allston offramps seem simple and well coordinated. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything noted.

Which atrocious highway-on-the-Charles would you remove first?

This isn't a toll road in the middle of Western Mass we are talking about - There are several other transit options in the area for alternate usage that we should be driving people to use. How can we encourage people to take the T instead of driving when the toll is $1 and a T fare is $2? First...

Which atrocious highway-on-the-Charles would you remove first?

Are you referring to the Eliot bridge when you are saying Gilmore? I thought the Gilmore bridge was closer to Charlestown. For what its worth, I believe the DCR experimented with dropping a travel lane WB under the bowker to allow a clean merge lane for traffic coming from the Fenway. After a...

Peak Car and the future of everything

I don't think it has to be that much to make a difference. $25-$50 a month in the core neighborhoods should be enough to encourage a few people to leave the cars at home. If not, keep raising the price until it does until there is always 5-15% overnight availability. Can even mirror garages and...

Hook Wharf | 400 Atlantic Ave | Downtown

Seems likely that the parking for the location will be scaled back or removed entirely. Seems like a decent location for it as there is little on street parking in the area so it's hard for existing residents to argue it will adversely impact their resident parking.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I agree with your theory. At some point it will become cost prohibitive to continually wall in existing coastal cities in if the oceans are predicted to rise indefinitely.. At some point, action to reduce/maintain the sea level may become more cost adventagious and benefit a wider group of...

Peak Car and the future of everything

I park in the Government Center garage. They are kind enough to grant one sick day a month when your car can be left in the garage. They also have a reduced rate for additional days. Other garages will charge you the full daily rate so this can be a burden for someone that works from home...

Peak Car and the future of everything

Somewhat related - I'm not well read on the Boston parking freeze but it seems like building of spaces is still permitted for new residential or office construction as long as they are only used for that purpose. What we end up with is 24/7 residential spaces and 24/7 office spaces in close...

Peak Car and the future of everything

With the current pricing structure I would definitely do this if I needed a 24/7 parking space. (I work north, so Sullivan could be a logical choice). However, I am fortunate enough to be able to reverse commute to work every day and have very few off-schedule days. It's tough to see a scenario...

Peak Car and the future of everything

This is especially frustrating since I am one that lives in the city and needs a car to commute to my job in the suburbs. I would much prefer a resident parking model in the city that is priced to ensure availability for residents on designated streets. Instead, we get the opposite where...

By this logic we should be against any project anywhere that increases traffic then? What are your thoughts on Assembly Square then? It's in the same vicinity as the Wynn site and is more likely to add rush-hour trips to 93 than the casino.

    MA Casino Developments

It's tough to compare AC & the CT casinos that are in the middle of nowhere to a Boston casino that will be in an urban environment next to a huge population center and easily accessible. Better comparisons would be to the Harrah's in NO or the new Horseshoe in Baltimore.
