    Boston College Master Plan

Re: Boston College Master Plan debut I'm surprised and somewhat pleased that the neighborhood association at least offered a compromise. Let the college buy the apartment building (which should be its right, after all) but persuade them to not build the new dorm in Allston-Brighton. I know...

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

    Patriot Place | Foxboro

Re: Patriots Place Well, the obvious thing has happened. Just about everyone misspells the name. Why did Kraft decide to call the development "Patriot Place"? The title of this thread is incorrect and should be changed.

    Sue me.

Lurker, are you saying that to make a point? You cut and pasted the entire article from a Harvard magazine, just a week ago.

Re: New Guitar Center on Boylston St Re-publishing someone's work is ethically wrong, I agree. Any time we post an article from the Boston Globe or Banker & Tradesman, it's wrong. There's no gray area about it. However, I'm willing to forgive it for a forum such as this, where the intent...

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center I like the design of the hotel. It's an encouraging development, the arrival of Related and Beal on the scene. Are those jackhammers I hear?

One dollar fares from Boston to NYC

Has anyone else taken Bolt Bus or MegaBus from Boston to New York City? I have, three times this summer. The fares were between $16-$18 each way. It varies based on when you sign-up; they start selling them at $1 a ticket then increase the prices as the buses fill up. The buses are in good...

Sounds as if it's too late. Let's let them have the movies, then. Shucks. Oh well. End of story.

    The Social Functions of NIMBYism

What, was this article too dense for anyone to read? The first half is spot-on (I skimmed the second ...). In a nutshell, it defines the neighborhood-developer paradigm as it exists in Boston, in the 21st-century.

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

Wait, am I missing something? Doesn't the article state, " ... the leases are up in November ..." If the leases are up, then they should be able to do whatever they want. I think there are two separate issues here - the leases that are expiring and the buildings being turned into office space...
