The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Whoa that's crazy expensive for a food hall. Food from food halls is like $10-15 in DC/Baltimore and they are usually pretty fancy and hipster-y. I guess I'll have to check it out when I visit lol. That's a LOT for fast-casual style.

Suffolk Downs Redevelopment | East Boston/Revere

There's enough demand for everywhere. Essentially all growth in the last decade or 2 in Massachusetts is in urban areas and they are getting filled so there's no reason to slow things down just for your desires. Anyway I can't see the PDF yet because the BDPA site is down.

449 Cambridge Street (née The Vinyl) | Allston

The curved building has potential. Allston might end up looking kinda funky.

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

I like the design, but that density is insultingly low. 2 stories on a new build, lmao.

Riverside Development | 333 Grove Street | Newton

Over a million square feet in NEWTON?? In a much more urban style than the rest of the city? This is seriously a historic moment.

Hurley Building Redevelopment | 19 Staniford St | West End

Yeah, I don't really get why people are crying about people not liking this building. It is the antithesis of the fine-grained urbanism most of us want. There is nothing wrong with Brutalism if it respects the context and adds value to the surroundings (the Clark University library of my alma...

Hurley Building Redevelopment | 19 Staniford St | West End

I'll have to see the replacement plan but I think good things will happen. Keep some of the Brutalist heritage but integrate it into a bustling streetscape like the rest of Boston. Many other Brutalist buildings in Boston do that, this can easily do that too, especially in this location.

Harvard SEC (Science & Engineering Complex) | Western Ave | Allston

This is straight cyberpunk and will look stunning in the right daylight.

Uber & Lyft as a source of congestion

The level of discussion is much higher than other papers, college level, but it totally is dominated by them (the busybodies) on any topic about bicycling. But I generally agree with most comments on political news.

Uber & Lyft as a source of congestion

Because I want to? They're very good compared to other newspapers.

Uber & Lyft as a source of congestion

Well I agree with the overall consensus that private cars are worse than delivery vehicles. I think the issue is a bit overhyped by the NY Times and their busybody readership. People who are at work during work hours won't even notice this stuff. NY Times commenters also hate bicycles and...

Housing (Supply Crisis & Public Policy)

Hong Kong and Singapore are mostly housed in public housing too.

Uber & Lyft as a source of congestion

Umm I can take a bus to a big-box store if really needed. I don't really have a need for hardware often as I live in a rented studio where I'm not responsible for maintenance. All I'm saying is that I personally am not a fan of deliveries, even when they cost less. Sitting at my home and...

The "Clevelandification" of Urban America (or how Manhattan is becoming a rich ghost town)

I'm not really opposed to homogeneity, I mean urban humans are similar worldwide, and will have similar needs and wants. The most important thing is an urban density and a diversity of facades, and a delightful walking/biking experience. A food hall is way more attractive to me than a dive bar...

The "Clevelandification" of Urban America (or how Manhattan is becoming a rich ghost town)

Umm no. It's because of the Internet and the globalization of trends. So that means food halls and craft breweries in every city. The top end of the new globalized urban trends is top-tier parks like the High Line, the Vessel, and Domino Park. Tons of other cities would want stuff like that...
