I see. I was thinking of nearby areas such as parts of East 1st St. where there has been newer construction. But after looking a map, I realize those areas are indeed west of L St.

As someone who drives, is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast, and who pays for residential parking in the city, that is some next-level sense of entitlement here :-D. I have no stake in what this gets turned into, but if there's ever a remote chance that a garage gets built, it better be...

It'll be interesting to see what color the glass will actually be when a sampler gets put together. The renders show the building and existing surrounding buildings (One Marina Park and 50 Liberty Dr.) in blue but we all know that the color on those existing buildings are more shades of green.

I'd like to get a good understanding of what the NIMBY's are against as well. Sometimes, overcrowding and traffic are simply go-to PC reasons to rationalize opposition, even if such factors do have merit. So what else is there? Is it opposition against further gentrification? Isn't this area...

I'd say more orange than red, but if you take a closer look at the rendering below, you can kind of see that the orangey accents are being depicted on the crown, just much easier to miss than the vertical accent stripes that go down the length of the building. More often than not, I find...

From what I understand (which is limited), Parcel H will be a condo building slated to start after the nearby MassMutual (10 fan Pier; Parcel E) building is completed or substantially completed... so, starting sometime in 2021 I assume.

Whoo! Just what we need! /s On the other hand, maybe Seaport will be a concentrated center for steakhouses like the North End is for Italian. I'd still prefer a variety of cuisines though, or at the very least different types of steakhouses like a good Brazilian steakhouse that's not just Fogo...

I might have agreed if there were not already an Aloft, Element, and upcoming Hyatt place nearby.

I think part of it is that people are fed up with the lack of ROI and the waste (or perceived waste) in MBTA spending (pensions, mismanagement, corruption, etc.). Plenty of us already feel fleeced enough through taxes as it is.

The 3D “framing” effect here is actually pretty interesting.

Well, I wasn’t going to say it, but having something like a Hampton Inn here in the first place is pretty ghetto. Although on the other hand, an example of a low-end hotel in the area done right is the Residence Inn in Fort Point.

Where will all the dog owners take their dogs to do their business? Serious question as I recall hearing that some neighborhoods get overrun by doggy doo on the streets or on green spaces where they’re not supposed to be.

WTF?!?! This doesn't even remotely resemble the older renders. Did this just slip through the approval process under the radar? I don't recall seeing anything about this redesign. This is upsetting.

In my defense, I've always said that the construction and materials of Pier 4 were high quality even throughout the build out (though not a fan of some of their interior finishes), except for when I thought they had cheaped out on some of the balconies on the lowest floor. I'll gladly eat cake...
