Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I recall the discussion, but to me a city of 1.5M vs 685K and an MSA of 6M vs. 4.8M is a significant difference. That's a lot of people. I was referring more to the "lack of a big city vibe" comment, as I spend a lot of time there, and other than NYC and Chicago, to me, it retains that vibe and...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Not to go off-topic but you seem a bit parochial here in your defense. Philly is 2x the size of Boston. If any place is a miniature version of NYC, it's Philly. Boston is like a big-small town, especially when comparing big city vibes. World Class, yes, Boston is that; big city, not so much...

Thanks! I never went that deep into the website to realize that they post the public comments. Some of those are pure gold.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I just saw this tweet. Does anyone have a B&T subscription? Interested in knowing which groups are squawking about the "intrusive" redesign. Steve Adams ‏ @SteveAdamsTweet 1h1 hour ago Groups criticize "intrusive" redesign of @fenwaypark including loss of bleacher seats to make way for event...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Big time bait and switch. The new rendering looks like any other tower lobby with two entrances. Perhaps my reading comprehension is off, but I did not see, or understand the rationale ("it wasn't resonating"???? with whom?) as to why changes were necessary, but it's probably due to the Globe...

    Framingham Developments

It will be interesting to see the residual revival of the downtown retail and restaurant scene once all these developments are rented out. On another note, did the Dennison complex ever get fully built out? As I recall the developer's bankruptcy was pretty complicated and brought everything to...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Spot on, those extor.. um linkage, mitigation, whatever you want to call it, payments are long ago earmarked for some other graft that those communities are locked into. There is no way that money train is going to be jeopardized.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

South Station is not going to be ruined in any way whatsoever. This is a fantastic project and long overdue. Where exactly have you been for the past 20-50 years with your disdain?

it could work, but you'd also probably be looking at least $50-75/ft in tenant improvement costs.

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I'm with ya BB. The theater appears fine but what they doing to the bleachers merits discussion. Maybe it is simple nostalgia, but I don't think it's controversial because a strong argument can be made that the character of the place has already been ruined by morphing it into an over priced...

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

Re: Rex Sox Theater [12-28 Lansdowne St] What do you mean by Yawkey? The former Yawkey Way is now Jersey St and that is on the opposite side of the photo above, with not much happening when the Sox are not playing. The image shows the intersection of Lansdowne (R) and Ipswitch (L) with...

    Crazy Airport Pitches

True, but the state owns the property right of way to divide to the airport. After the airport (rt 202/122), the road gets pretty dicey. They didn't do it when they put in the bollards based solely on traffic count at the time.

    Crazy Airport Pitches

Using the word greenfield, reminded me of something. I flew in and out of Dulles a while ago and noticed (what I think is new) rail going straight down the middle of the highway. I recall maybe 10-15 years there was some sort of study of a new airport location in Mass, one of those locations...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium You have to watch out for those filthy creatures. Those fields must be fenced in. The last thing you need is professional athletes getting bit by a tick and developing lyme disease.

    Crazy Airport Pitches

“The goal is to collect data that could lead to a class action lawsuit.” Not to rain on the parade, and who knows if this will advance in Congress, but at the end of the day, this is a microcosm of what to expect with any new proposals, let alone expanding Logan...
