Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

Anyone know why this piece of the old Anthony’s Pier 4 has just been sitting in the Mystic next to Schrafft’s? I first noticed it a little over a year ago but I’m assuming it’s been there since the restaurant was torn down. I first thought they might be planning to incorporate the sign back into...

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

Here’s a really cool drone fly-through that gives you a nice perspective of the size of the entire project and the progress to date. It’s from a few weeks ago:

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Thanks for the respectful and well-thought out response - it's much appreciated as that doesn't always happen on here. My response is simply that I disagree (strongly) with the notion that a street without traffic feels desolate/detached and that cars would help impact life on the street...

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Honest question - why would opening the street to slow-speed vehicles would uplift the area? IMO, the lack of cars is one of the main attractions of DTX. The street is packed with people/bikes most of the day. It's also centrally located with access to each subway line so it's not as if...

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

Can't argue with you on their new building, but I dig their main building. I also give them a big thumbs up for being the only parcels in that area that built bike lanes completely separated from the street in front of their buildings. The uninterrupted connection that provides from...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Yep, Rapid7 moved in a couple months ago.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Original plans called for 1,100 spaces down from the existing 2,300 so a net loss of 1,200 spaces. A welcomed reduction (IMO) as we try to limit Boston's car dependency.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Steve Adams with Banker & Tradesman reported that a potential tenant backed out of a lease here. I don't have access to the article - anyone else know what potential tenant he's referring too and the details?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Page 31 of the plans (page 40 of the file) says that they expect Phase 1 to take 4 years...unclear (at least to me) exactly when each portion within Phase 1 will be completed though.

One Kenmore Square | 560 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square Hiring Jeff Speck to help design the layout was an A+ hire. He's excellent and it gives me a lot of confidence that the redesigned layout will help to truly transform the square for the better. As he said, "Our plan is to...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I never understood why they didn't just brand it the "Garden District". If you ask people to describe where a restaurant or bar is in this area, they will say "by the Garden" or "by North Station" so just piggy back off what people naturally say.

That was my exact thought when I saw that pic too...perfect set up for it and hopefully it eventually gets there.

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End Correct - the excavation isn't starting until the Spring and will take a while.

The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Just about, but residents haven't begun moving in yet. The lobby is completed and has a really nice floor-to-ceiling living wall.

Dock Square Parking Garage | 20 Clinton Street | Downtown

Re: Dock Square Parking Garage, 20 Clinton Street The issue with adding garages/spaces is that a large majority of people will always be willing to sit in traffic if they know they will have a place to park when they get to the city. If you want to truly encourage public transportation usage...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Yes, and that bus lane helps get people to/from South Station. It provides no relief to traffic moving north.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Completely agree with this comment and the one below it to. To truly encourage biking as the primary mode of transportation in the city (which Boston desperately needs to do both from an efficiency and climate perspective) the lanes need to be fully...
