Pardon the cell phone pics, but some sort of concrete slab was being poured and smoothed out on site today. Is this the start of the “top down?” Also, there is some sort of steel assembly on the opposite side of the site. Could this be the crane foundation?

FWIW...I commute nearly daily on the Blue Line from downtown to Orient Heights. It is - by far - the most predictable and pleasant portion of my commute and often times, my work day.

This litigation may indeed be a ploy to force Chiafaro to the neogiating table. Their litigants negotiating position is much stronger now that the developers are staring down the barrell of 3 to 4 years of litigation before they can even hope to put a formal application in front of the BPDA.

As disheartening as the extension might be on the surface, I would take this as the most positive sign yet that construction is imminent. Pension fund involvement usually means the project has a financier.
