Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District How is any of this even possible - permits and approvals aside - the building can't be anywhere near the construction document phase in design?

^ I could write a novel, but I'll try to keep it as brief as possible :-) As a first-time visitor, you definitely will want to spend some time in Old Montreal. It's architectually beautiful and vibrant and will certainly give you a great feel for the "tourist" side of the city. However -...

I think Toronto definitely suffers a bit from the effects of foreign buyers purchasing condos and using them as speculative developments or pied a terres, leaving units empty for much of the year. While foreign buyers certainly aren't responsible for all of the condo boom there - and Toronto's...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

If it's helpful, I took this picture from the Skywalk on Saturday (6/2). Obviously, there has been another core jump since.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

Tower crane being installed this morning. I snapped a pic on my phone. I’ll try to upload it by the end of the weekend, provided somebody doesn’t beat me to it.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

Those pictures are from March/early April as evidenced by the snow on the ground, un-foliated trees. Unfortunately the site is not easily visible from the street so it is hard to see where they actually stand in terms of progress.

Lovejoy Wharf | 131 Beverly Street | West End

I did a quick glance at the suffolk deeds Website. Looks like 42 unit deeds have been filed, about 27 percent sell through. Obviously, this doesn't take into account any units that may be under contract and have not filed yet. I have to admit, I have always found it curious how we build...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Glancing at Bee Line's picture and the Web cam....is it possible that the residential phase is going to be cast-in-place concrete and that we are seeing the forms for the first floor being built?

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

FWIW...based on some of the Tweets they posted during the demolition process, they have a tendency to post pictures that are actually a week or two behind real time. No way of knowing for sure, but their progress might actually be further along than the feed actually indicates

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

FYI....based on the Webcams, it looks like the tower cranes for Phase 2 are being installed right now.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

For what it's worth, Boston Properties announced their fourth quarter 2017 earnings yesterday. During the call, they apparently announced that they have started construction on the 440-unit residential phase of the project...

    Silver Line to Chelsea

Something I noticed this weekend driving through the TWT. The trooper in front of us was heading east toward the airport. As he/she approached the open air section between the connector tunnel and the TWT, they pulled to the right shoulder, made a 180 degree turn and headed up the ramp in what...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District OMG....this project has not been approved. It is only in the application phase. NOTHING HAS BEEN APPROVED. There is likely another 12 to 16 months - perhaps more - of hearings, meetings, regulatory hurdles that still need to be cleared. The city...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Noticed the same exact thing....that vertical beam is definitely higher than the full podium level as depicted in the renderings.

Gables Seaport (née Waterside Place 1B) | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: Waterside Place 1B | 505 Congress Street | Seaport Just an update....I walked by this site today. Construction fencing is up and there is a large "Suffolk" construction sign on the fencing. This seems to be poised to get started.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

How does this work when the station platform is immediately before a signaled intersection? The two biggest examples that come to my mind are Coolidge Corner (crosses Harvard Street) and St. Paul Street on the "C" Branch? Is there some way to trip the signal by closing the train doors after...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Just to followup on this from last week... I was wrong....steel has begun to be installed in the parking levels of the second half of the site. https://app.oxblue.com/open/BostonProperties/BostonRegion

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Just an update. It looks like a mat-slab foundation was poured yesterday and there is rebar being staged on the newly poured floor. A surprising development....it seems a third crane is about to be installed on the office tower portion of the podium. Not sure what to make of that...
