If parking is that important to them then they can provide it for themselves or move to the suburbs where it is abundant. The answer isn't to not build desperately needed housing because some crybaby car drivers like free parking.

The most visited place in Boston is Faneuil Hall. Its not a street. Thats part of its appeal. The same could be said of city squares all over the world. Streets are hostile to people.

I live near Franklin Park and go there often. My #1 concern is parking. By that I mean they better not build more of it by cutting down trees, paving over fields, etc. Franklin Park should be the place Bostonians go to in order to escape cars, noise, etc. Keep it as a park, not a parking lot.

There should be bollards all over the city. Even city councilors are driving onto sidewalks and into buildings. I'll take whatever protection I can get from the terrible drivers and the awful people who park on sidewalks.

To be fair, Millenium over delivered in San Fransisco. They threw in a tilt on the tower for free!

14 parking spaces for a 7 unit building that is 1 block from a T station. WTF. Ditch the parking and add a couple more units at least.

I recently flew Level to Barcelona and it was a good experience. Went with Economy Plus as it wasn't much more than standard seats if you factor in seat selection, luggage, etc. No delays, good service.

I live near Washington and think its actually lost appeal in terms of commercial space in recent years. Doyles, Exodus Bagels, The Gate, Drinking Fountain are gone and Dogwood is closing for good soon. Nothing has replaced those spots yet. A new brewery is supposed to go into 3200 but theres...

The problem with that intersection isn’t the trees, it’s the drivers. Especially the ones running red lights. Cars don’t belong there.

Unfortunately that describes Boston as a whole.

Make bus lanes “toll lanes”. Any vehicle that isn’t a bus pays a $100 toll. That’ll keep the bus lane almost entirely empty for buses while bringing in revenue from terrible drivers and/or a few rich assholes who will willingly pay the toll.

Tech, bio tech, higher education, tourism, pro sports, finance. Just some components of the local economy. I’m looking to upgrade my Boston condo situation to something in the price range you mentioned. I’m sure I’m not alone.

Hard to think of a neighborhood in America where a car is more unnecessary.
