Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

Widening the Boylston street sidewalk for one block is nice and it should be the first step to making it pedestrian only similar to St Catherine street in Montreal. They already close it down for parades and such.

The Residences at Forest Hills | 3694 Washington Street | Jamaica Plain

I live about equidistant between Harvest and the Centre Street Whole Foods. I walk to get my groceries because I live in a city and I'm not lazy and 98% of the time I chose to walk to Whole Foods, with the main reason being that walking near Forest Hills sucks. The Casey Arborway project should...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

A large portion of Memorial Drive will be closed to cars this saturday and sunday for the Head of the Charles. A portion is closed to cars regularly on sundays so people can actually enjoy the river. This does not cause the end of the world. It is time to give the river back to the people...

    Martin's Park | Children's Wharf | Fort Point

Why protect the white house from flooding if climate change is just a Chinese hoax?

    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Montreal puts Boston to shame when it comes to patio seating and pedestrian zones. Boston should be embarrassed by how it treats pedestrians. The so called DTX pedestrian zone constantly has people driving in it, from cabs after 6PM to lazy cops using it as a cut through to a never ending stream...

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals Oh hell no. We need to be removing streets in the city core and giving the space back to the people, not adding more streets. This space should be for the people of Boston, not suburbanites who insist on driving everywhere.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link It is absolutely a distribution of wealth. Younger generations will be paying for the greed(plus interest!) of old millionaires for decades to come. Giving money away to billionaires who will just hoard it is the dumbest thing you can do, so of course it was the #1...

    General Infrastructure

I take the Silver Line from the airport multiple times per year since it opened and have always gotten on without crowding issues and never waited 5 minutes for people to board. Plus its free going into downtown. Plus there is the Blue Line. Paying to park at the airport is for suckers.

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

The building being gutted at 3201 Washington is supposed to be torn down for the 40 unit condo building for 3193 Washington. They are taking their sweet time with it. https://www.jamaicaplainnews.com/2017/01/18/zba-approves-3193-washington-st-development-with-condos-commercial-space

What are your favorite neighborhoods in/around Boston?

I think the North End is the most overrated neighborhood. Walking down Hanover is a huge pain in the ass. The sidewalks are pathetically narrow. There is so much pedestrian activity with the Freedom Trail and all the restaurants yet drivers get 4 lanes while pedestrians have to fight each other...

    General Infrastructure

Big fan of the improvements to that block of Franklin Street. Pedestrians greatly outnumber cars in that area. Common sense would tell you to design the area for the people who actually use it.

Northern Avenue Bridge Fort Point Channel

Re: Old Northern Ave Bridge There are bridges and roads full of cars LITERALLY all around this thing, we don't need another bridge full of cars. The bridge was part of the Harborwalk. The Harborwalk should so very obviously have a pedestrian only bridge. Putting cars on the bridge would only...

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Drivers pay less and less in gas tax every year. They only people who pay more are MBTA users. Drivers come no where close to paying their fair share in this country.

Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Bad public transit, many similar looking and bland buildings, generic steakhouses and other boring and subpar restaurants that are laughably bad compared to what is going on nearby in Fort Point. I think those criticisms of the Seaport are still accurate. If anything public transit has gotten...

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

I think 3389 Washington(next to Turtle Swamp) is fine. Fits in with other buildings in the neighborhood. Turtle Swamp now has the taps in the left part of the building and has added more indoor space quite recently. One of the best patios in JP(not saying much). 3353 Washington a block away...

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

The project was supposed to be completed over a year ago, I can tell you that. Whoever is in charge of this project should be ashamed of themselves. They used 2 months of bad winter as an excuse for the project being 18 months behind schedule.

North End Piazza on The Greenway | 198 Hanover Street | North End

The North End is supposed to be inspired by Italian cities, right? You know what cities in Italy have? Places for people! Plazas, pedestrian streets, parks, etc. The North End is a joke when it comes to this. Cars should not be allowed in front of these buildings. A "piazza" is a public...

    SUPERCEDED MXD | Kendall Square

I think I'll save my Denmark comparisons for this thread. More people bike in Copenhagen than drive and they get cold weather too. America is full of excuses. Denmark is full of solutions. In terms of infrastructure and traffic: drivers get what they pay for. Our gas tax is pathetically low...
