Handel Architects do the worst ground-floors. You can dress them up however you want, but these are literally holes in the wall.

William Rawn should change his name to William Yawn. This is the last in a string of really banal buildings from him. His MIT dorms look like public housing and the W is a lifeless glass slab. I could go on.

Regarding the the Old Colony Development, could they have possibly sprung the extra expense for something more that two colors for the exteriors of these buildings? This is essentially a whole neighborhood here and they've made it look a monolithic, less-dense, more cheaply constructed version...

That gap is a public passage leading to the alley between Boylston and Newbury. I always thought it was cool. But I agree about the building itself.
