    Fairmount Line Upgrade

A 'petition' is a bill. It had a hearing in September but didn't get reported out of the committee, so it will probably be reported out to the House in February at the deadline for reporting bills out of their committees. It's probably not going anywhere the legislature doesn't really do anything.

    Rosa Parks Boulevard

There are certain historical figures who absolutely do NOT deserve any modern recognition, like Columbus or Confederate figures and all of those need to be removed. I don't put the founding fathers in the same category, particularly when there were local historical events they partook in, but...

    Rosa Parks Boulevard

The world does need significantly less monuments to Washington and the rest of the founding fathers and we have a million Washington Streets. Not really feeling Rosa Parks as a street name for on of our most important streets though? Not local and she didn't do anything here.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Unless there is a good bus connection someone wants to propose I'm fine with keeping it at just bike and pedestrian crossings from BU to Beacon Park. But even then you could make a dedicated bus bridge and ban automobile traffic.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I like how the street grid MassDOT penciled in is still, after all these years, composed of Commonwealth Ave sized streets. Can literally anyone at MassDOT read up on current trends in their field so as not to totally balls up this new neighborhood? Why is all of this garbage road...

    "Midtown"/Widett Circle in a non-Olympics Boston

If the BTD site got sold off, like Kraft was pretending to do with the revs stadium feint, you might be able to access Widett through that redevelopment. If the North South Rail Link happened and Amtrak used that opportunity to move their rail yard up to Woburn, then you could redevelop that...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

They absolutely want to implement distance based fares on the rapid transit system and it's complete bullshit. The rapid transit lines do not go nearly far enough out to justify any sort of increased charge based on distance.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

This is Crazy Transit Pitches you can just tunnel it until the Dedham Mall.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

I suppose that you could build on the parking lots and redevelop the eastern side of University Ave to get more density, but the area seems boxed in. If you're extending the Orange Line it's better to extend it through West Roxbury to Dedham because there is a corridor of malls and big box...

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link Ari made a blog post making an argument that it would be better to have only two stations anyways: Link

    Amazon HQ2 RFP

People talking about North Point keep forgetting that the Orange Line is close by as well, though you would probably need to work on improving that pedestrian connection.

    [CANCELED] Summer St. Gondola

Put some dedicated bus lane on Summer Street. But that would require taking space away from cars so i guess that is not a realistic solution while spending large amounts of money on gondola infrastructure and operation is serious.

MBTA Red Line / Blue Line Connector

I was toying around with the idea of exceeding the Blue Line along the D-Line reservation as far as Brookline Village. If you want to implement the D-Line to E-Line connector idea then you're left with the question of what to do with the Fenway(Landmark) and Longwood stations. Might as well...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

The previous interim GM Brian Shortsleeve*, had no transit experience whatsoever and mostly led privatization efforts. He was not sacked and now sits on the Fiscal Management and Control Board despite community protestation. He is now being replaced by a GM with no transit experience whatsoever...

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

The fact that Ramirez doesn't have any transit experience is a problem because he is expected to make decisions in the public interest that are... transit related? When the Rail Vision is being worked on and the higher ups like Pollack say that electrification is bad because it requires spending...

Emergency Closure of Bridge to (Boston's) Long island

The best use is to integrate it into the Boston Harbor Islands park, probably use the buildings there for some museums I guess? I think it's important not to turn this land over to private interests on account of the previous uses being for public benefit. Definitely don't transfer the land to...

Connected/Automated vehicles and infrastructure in Boston

People should not be living in their car, that is not suitable housing. There are humane ways of sheltering people, like building public housing.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

You're right, never try or believe in anything. Don't even think things could be better because the world will never change.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

What they should have done is decreased the surface roads by two lanes and made a trolley that travels alongside the Greenway. The North Washington Bridge and the Northern Avenue Bridge could have supported a trolley (after some repairs) and you could have the oft mentioned tourist line...
